Default LS1 swap guide to 2 gen Camaro.

I have 1978 Camaro and Ls1 + T56 from 1998 Camaro.

What is wisest way of making this swap today. Motor mounts, oilpan, headers? I havent test fitted engine yet, but seems that with f-body oilpan, engine will be sitting rather high. H3 or CTS-v oilpan? Im from finland so these parts aren´t very easy to find atleast from here.

BRPhotrods for the engine/trans mount and maybe the headers.

www.Speartech.com for modifing the stock computer and harness.

I've been wanting to do this too. but LS2/4L60E in my 70 Camaro. Too bad I didn't find this forum until after I bought a 454. My W/U (wife unit) said not until I sell the 454. LOL

Anyways. good luck with your conversion.

www.BRPhotrods.com also has factory GM oil pans too. Best bet is the Caddy CTS-V.

I´m going for programmable ecu and selfmade wiring loom.

Are those BRP engine mounts meant to used with cts-v? oilpan. And are there any cheaper headers than those, this is going to bee trackcar (or driftcar if presice) and it doesn´t need to be shiney.

Stock f body pan works. My motor sits low and the oil pan is about 1" up from being level with the bottom of the crossmember, so it would hit the crossmember first.

that pan looks like the GTO..

the BRP kits are designed to use the Hummer LH8 pan.

Edelbock headers with edelbock plates using stock f body pan.Motor sits back and low, great price on headers. H2 pan hangs below cross member, not a good choice. Resold my sorry PRB stuff to some poor sucker on e bay,I still feel guilty
for doing it, but at least he only paid 1/2 price for this junk, Phil should feel guilty.

Good to know - that's the direction I am headed and wondered if the pan would work...

The BRP kit for the 2F uses the CTS-V or the recomended F-Pan. With the car acc and a top mount Kwik Kit which we now have in stock. We also carry new and used F-Pans and new CTS-V pans in stock

Also the new 2f kit uses the OEM mounting holes on the frame
