Default LS and ProCharger

Hi
I will build a new engine and want to stop using nitrous
and try a more modern technology of v8 :-)
I want to have 1200-1400hp with a ProCharger F1 or F2 together with
a LS motor.
Which LS engine is best to start from?
Does any one have a working concept for this?
Thanks
/ Peter

With that much HP/TQ, you better start from scratch.. Start with a GM LSx block to start. If not.. go with a Iron Truck engine L92 or the older LQ9/4.

Yes
I was going to save a few dollars to search for Truck L92 engine but they are not so easy to find in Sweden, so it'll be a new one.
Have found a Suburban -99 5,7 l but I do not know if it would work.
What modells had these 6.l engines???

depending on year and models.. but use this to start and help finding a Gen III or IV engine.

Also, if it is a 99' 5.7L.. it is the older SBC Gen I engine.

LSX block & CNC L92 heads would be your best bet as they are both proven pieces at that power level. If you have the money for it, (going of your power expectations it sounds like you do) you should look into the LSX 454 crate motor. It would save you alot of hassle, since you have limited access to parts. Plus it is ready to go out of the box for that power level, full forged.

Here is a lil background on it the GMPP LSX 454: http://www.vetteweb.com/tech/vemp_09...ine/index.html
http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/lsx/index.jsp

If you are looking to go fuel injected i would look toward a Mast crate motor: http://paceperformance.com/index.asp...&ProdID=239246

In any case both are turnkey engines.

Thanks
I had hoped to use some parts from the 6L truck engine, but it is as you say
lsx is probably the right way to go if i want a reliable engine.
How much force can you pick from a Truck L92 engine if you change
rods, pistons, valves springs etc. and hanging on a procharger ?

These questions might be better asked in the other sections, Internal Engine and Forced Induction...?

But it sound like what you want to do is find a engine, strip out everything (Rod and Crank and bolts, etc), use and machine the block, buy all new internals to handle the 12-1400 HP... and use and mod the L92 Heads... !? I still think starting with a LSx block or as DJ stated, buy a turnkey that was built to handle the Force Induction and Output Level.

at that power level you might want to look at aftermarket heads, like AFR's for power and thicker deck-i would prob start looking at turbos also, although i have run a bunch of Prochargers, turbos seem to be the power leaders if selected right
