L33 throttle body
Found a couple of low mileage L33s, '06, '07 (to put in my CJ7) but the guy on the phone at the junkyard doesn't know what kind of throttle they have. Before I drive there, does anyone know if these will be drive by cable or wire? I'd rather fool with a cable than an electronic pedal....

I like the idea of shaving some weight to offset the extera pounds of the NV4500 tranny that's going in, but not fond of fooling with the DBW throttle. Should I just get over it and deal with it?

The cruse control is built in, the DBW has been around for a while and has little problems. It's a reliable as the cable ones.

Agreed! I have an L33 with only 11k on it for my 04 Colorado ZQ8! I have already switched the accessories over to LS1 accessories too! Mine has 799 casting heads!

I'm thinkin that getting the whole PCM and related components' harness for this motor is going to be a PITA since the motor is already out of the truck. Guess I'll just have to go check it out and make sure it's all there:
-starter
-power steering
-Alt
-MAF
-PCM
-Gas pedal
-Harness
-fan
What am I missing here that needs to come from the donor vehicle?

Just get it, put a cable throttle on it, and use approprate harness / computer. The engine dosen't care what you slap on it, you can switch it over no problem. If it comes with the 243 heads or equivalent, go for it! You'll be one step ahead of the game. If you're gonna look for a cable 5.3, your stuck with a 2002 truck or older motor. Most everything you come across will be DBW
