4l60e issues
ok guys im havin an issue i got a 4l60e jus had it rebuilt, shift kit put in, billet servo, racing clutches all that bs. so i got my 79 mustang running with the 5.3l hooked up the obd2 tester and im pulling like 4 tranny codes and it wont shift on its own but if i manually shift it i can get it to shift 2-3 but no 1-2 shift. everythings hooked up right i think. The pink wire at the tranny connector has power and ground i checked with my power probe, the fuse box has power at all the tranny fuses so any ideas? anyone have a similar issue? some of the codes were shift selonoid B, shift timing control, torque convertor circuit.

did your car ever drive or did you rebuilt the trans prior to first drive? If it never drove before, i'd start with checking the ecm<->4l60e wiring, not just power but all the solenoid wires.

I had the same problem with my Impala SS . I found out one of the Fuse is blown . I replace the fuse but keep on blowing. I think I change one of the bad rear o2 sensor and the problem solve

Improper shift functions.
The way I would diagnose this would be to get a Tech 2 and do a manual test on the trans and road test it. this way you can control the shift yourself, you can do an electrical test for continuity on all the solenoids . Does it start out in first gear when you take off. For first gear both shift solenoids are on , for second A is On B is off , for third gear both are off and for 4th gear A is off and B is on . if this is above where you want to go take it to a dealer. Good Luck
