just a quick video of a test drive. My Go-Pro is sitting in a bay in the British virgin Islands so this will have to do till I get a new one.

WoW
I've been wanting to do a LS1 conversion since ToyJet did the first one,
and a Chevy Hybrid 911 since 1995...
sadly due to lack of space and funds I still haven't been able to realize it

LS1_911 you my new hero!
awesome build, love that chopped top!

That's a nasty swap, what's up with the "tapout" sticker?

Just posting some pictures to bring this up to date. These are posts from my local site:

here are a few pics of the "test fit" of the rears I will post up some of the fronts tomorrow. I already started work on the rear. 295'S on the rear.

here is the difference in the front tires old to new... not that much

Got the fronts on... they stick out some. I wonder what the handling affect will be with the new tires? kinda excited to drive it.

again going from original equipment of 195 to 285 makes a big difference.

The weight difference is ~38 pounds per rim/tire per side on the fronts. I will have to wait and see for the backs when I can pull them.

feel free to give me input but know the car is very far from done as of today. please note the side skirts are not on the car.

I've been in the lab almost every day. This is the smaller of the two bays, easier to heat.

A lot left to do. Very excited.

Those offsets just dont work. I am not a fan of wheels and tires sticking that far out. BUt if you like it thats all that matters it is your car.

The pictures are very far from the finished product.
There is quite a lot of body work going on. That whole back end to the doors is changing over to carbon fiber along with the roof. I am using fiberglass for the front to make the weight closer to 50/50.
here are the corner weights.

full tank to get a starting point on how much bracing I can do up front and reach a number closer to 50/50.
Mind you I weigh 195 pounds or 13 stone and 13 pounds.

Loaded the car is now 2597 including me, end goal is 2200 and a lot closer to 50/50.
The car's rear weight is 1682# or 64.8% of the total weight.
The load is bias front left back right.
Less my weight it is 2403 pounds.
That breaks bown to ~roughly~:
20%front right 15% front left
31%rear right 34% rear left

I am removing a boat load of weight in the back with the removal of very thick sheet metal and bracing. the bracing is being replaced with tubular framing.

The fuel cell is moving up a little
battery is moving up
I am centering almost everything down the middle via the tunnel.

I am bracing up the front end a good bit with tubular that will up the front end overall.

yeah, I try to make things out of the engines I blow or mangle.
makes for good conversations and very strong hanging racks.

This is all my work. That is just a plug/mold that I am making a fiberglass or carbon fiber rear with.
