Red face Plug for oil level sensor bung.

I purchased a modified oil pan from S&P for my conversion. The modification will not allow me to use the oil level sensor so I need to plug the bung. Does anyone know where I can purchase a plug for this? I haven't been to a dealer yet but a couple of parts stores and a hardware store didn't have a plug this size. It is about 1/2 inch with pretty fine threads and I assume it is metric.

Can't you just leave it and disconnect the wires or cut them. What am I missing here?

I have a plug ordered from S&P. (must be chrome or gold plated for $19.95)
'67ls1camaroProject, The sensor is about 4 inches long and is in the way of the oil pickup inside the pan. The pan and pickup were modified by S&P.

I am still not sure why you can not just cut the inside part of the sensor off with a hax saw. Am I missing something????? www.Fastenal.com has just about any size bolt, plug, etc. If you took the sensor in they could measure the size and pitch. They have locations all over the country.

I received my package from S&P and it was another sensor instead of just a plug. I called them back and spoke to another person and he said the sensor should be work with the modified pan so the modified pickup tube is either bent wrong or has rolled over. So, I have to remove the pan and see what's going on. LS1swap, I cut the sensor off and tried to use just the head of it but it leaks without the rubber seal on the far end. Thanks for the replys.

That is too bad it's not that big of a deal to pull the pan though if the engine is not installed yet. Sounds like you have to figure out why the pickup is out of place. With the modified pick up tube does it still bolt to the windage tray? If nothing else after you figure out that the pick up tube will work. Maybe you can epoxy any hole after the stem is cut off the sensor.
