Great project! I love this not too good looking projects! No meaning to offence.

It's awesome seeing them beating those super glossy paint job cars out there.

I vote: more $$$ under the hood, less $$$ on the look.

Well finally got off my *** and made a bit of progress....

Skinny kid race cars trans cross member welded in, still going to brace it up a bit more but it is a pretty slick set up with the clevis ends on it.

Test fit a edelbrock proflo XT manifold to see if there was any way I could use it, pictures speak for them selves.... BAD *** intake but not going to work for what I want.

ya turbos will probably be the same asthey were in the mustang, if I wanted to cut the hood or run a scoop I could probably fit this intake but I am not willing to do that.

Backwards mounted ported ls2 manifold it is !!!!

Ok ladies and gents, finally back on the car after the hollidays with some very minor updates:

Scored some V banded and ceramic coated manifolds from a good buddy, they are still dirty in these pics :

Also added some gussets to the trans cross member clevis deal, Probably going to add some more bracing back to the subframe connectors to stop any fore and aft movement, also sealed up the holes where the subframe connectors come through the floor and gave it a coat of paint to keep the rust off for now:

Did a little more playing around with the dash as well, the center circle is just a post it note I cut out and stuck on to determine if thats where I wanted to mount my digital cobalt boost gauge?

Last night I spent a few hours removing the dash and all the factory heat stuff which will all be replaced by this nice little Flex-a-lite mojave' unit... Including what will be put back in I saved around 22lbs, pipe is just sitting there for me to try and visualize where I want to run my Water to air intercooler piping.

Old junk on the left, new heater assembly on the right... little difference LOL:

Looks like I might be going for the record with the stock short block and hopefully I will be the first one in the 8's if I can get my stuff together!

Are these modified factory castings? If so, do you have any idea as to how it was done? Are they machined from the original flange, or are they welded on? I'm just trying to figure out if a local machine shop could do something like that.
I would bet the V band clamp could make life a whole lot easier if you are short on room under the hood.

The factory 3 bolt flanges were cut off and then these were welded on in place of them. The work was done by board member "lsonechevelle" for use on his single turbo 6.0 chevelle.
