Im still running the stock 2.5 4cylinder fuel pump, it is under rated for the LS1 but a lot of people have ran them without any problems. I havent had any issues yet. I plan on upgrading my fuel pump/system when the stock jeep fuel pump quits on me..

On my 6.0 into the 99 TJ and the LS6 into the 98 TJ I modified the Jeep fuel pump module and ran an in tank 255 pump. Both have worked well.

I will check and see if I have any pics of the pump.

I am still toying with the idea of the ls style in my jeep, however fuel system is one of the big things I would have to redo with the original CJ fuel system. If anyone has pictures of what you did please post up would really appreciate it.

Don't bother messing with the GM gauges. I wasted a huge amount of time trying to get a GM cluster to work with my 5.3L/XJ swap.

I used the stock Jeep speedo since I kept the 241R . Since the 241R was out of Rubicon and had 4:10 gears the speedo reads very close. My TJ has 4:10 gears.

The Jeep tach will not work with the GM computer. I used a Autometer tucked up against the left "A" pillar. Can't really see it from the outside.

I swapped over the oil and water sensors from the 2.5 to the LS6 and they work fine. Voltmeter works also.

Keep in mind I am running two computer. Stock one from the Jeep and a GM computer for the LS6/4L60E combo.

It has worked well. No issues.

Sorry for the lack of updates.........
Still have a long list of stuff to do to the jeep, but i'm happy that its finally time to start working on it again!

Took these pictures about 2.5 months ago, and the jeep has been sitting in storage ever since. Finally brought the jeep home to my new house and gonna get back to work on it.

So my trans is slipping and shifting pretty strange... freshly rebuilt 4l60e, do you think its in the rebuild or could it be in the computer tune.. its stock a tune from an auto camaro. Its slowly lobbing into the next gear as it shifts, and i also think it may be skipping 3rd and falling right into overdrive. I've smelled something odd too, like clutches or something... Also is anyone interested in explaining torque converter lock up? what it is, and what it does etc.. thanks

just joined this site after a google search sent me here, been in the offroad world for some time now, I am in the middle of the exact same swap as you did,

couple questions

Do you have to have the Jeep Computer flashed to take out all the stuff not needed?

I am gonna keep it and run the factory gauges, Is a tach required for a automatic tranny?

with the three inch body lift did you have to do any firewall alterations?, I want to have enough body lift for minor firewall alterations

I have a black 98 that looks so much like yours its scary, no body lift, 4" suspension lift,

My computer was flashed at Howell. Its a stock z28 w/ auto tune right now.
Im still in the middle of installing my gauges so I cant relly answer questions yet i've order a few, but nothings installed yet. I think my transmission needs to be tuned in, havent had a tranny shift right in the jeep yet; close, but not where it needs to be...

Alot of people opt against the 3" lift, i havent had any problems with it, and it adds a ton of clearance but I would like to go down to 2" eventually. There are no firewall clearance issues at all with the 3" lift.

You can get the stock tach to work also, alot of people utilize some of the stock jeep gauges

So the Jeep has been sitting for about a year, and i'm finally getting back to it.

I still have a list of Issues and loose ends to tie up..

Right now my main concern is fixing the transmission... please feel free to chime in with suggestions.

2000 LS1
4L60e
Np241 drivers drop
-Speed Sensor in T-case

Supposed rebuilt trans was shifting and now wont shift out of 1st. Reverse still works. Hooked up my scanner (Diablo Predator) and its not throwing any codes, and the Mph are registering also which tells me the speed sensor should be functioning properly allowing it to shift? Looking for some suggestions, wondering if my trans cool lines are clogged, or the trans just wasnt rebuilt right..I was also told to check the Solenoids in the trans.

Wondering if I should buy the the trans manual and tackle the solenoids myself or if it would be better to just yank it and take it in.... I just wanted to rule out wire and sensor related issues myself at least..but sounds like its narrowed down to being something internal... im also thinking about selling this one, because its the "small" input shaft 4l60e, I want to go with the Large input shaft 4L and matching torque converter...i'm also considering buying a new one from performabuilt. After 2 rebuilt transmissions from the same guy, neither ever shifted right..slow engaging reverse, and drive and real slow lagging shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. its been so annoying and a let down
