Default New Russell fitting for Vette filter/regulator

We still get a lot of calls for the double ended male fitting to use with the Vette fuel pressure regulator/filter:

That piece allowed you to do this:

We don't make that piece anymore, but Russell has a newer fitting that eliminates the need for that piece anyway:

It lets you get to AN in one step and is really slick.

The Russell part # is 640940.

They are really nice. we have both the male and female quick connect fittings here as well

640850 - 3/8" pipe to 6 an (normal feed line for LS also clips to rail) female end (blue fitting in pic)
640860 - 5/16" pipe to 6 an (size of evap line on some F bodies for reference) female end (blue fitting in pic)
640930 - 5/16 to 6 an male fitting (silver in pic)
640940 - 3/8 to 6 an male fitting (silver in pic)

none of those fitting ATM are 8 an, you would have to use the 659960 to take it from a 6 an male to 8 an male then you can go with 8 an. there is ONE more fitting it goes from the 3/8 male pipe to a 3/8 npt threaded end...it is 640690. just some info to chew on.

John, I bought my corvette filter/regulator from you years ago with that little piece. every now and then I get a PM asking where I got the pipe so I always send them your way.

Dorman still makes that double end fitting, but its 12" long part #800-155
I think they use to make a shorter one, but I couldn't find it in their catalog

hey guys, sorry to ask a stoopid question, but brand new to site and new to lsx swap, blah blah blah. putting lq9 in 73 camaro and curious about fuel system. is this piece here what i need with a external pump on factory tank (welded bungs in it)? i have heard some people running early vette fuel rails for the return line, but if i got this filter/regulator yall are showing in these pictures, would it be all i need to regulate the pressure so that i need no other return line (just the one on the filter)? thanks

Yeah, if you don't have a return line fuel rail, this is the next easiest (and cheapest!) way to create the return line and properly regulate your fuel pressure.

thanks for that quick reply. i just started the swap and havnt got very deep into all the details. i also got a ecu out of a 98 trans am. will yall's (speartech's) stand alone harness work with a computer out of a 98? most companys' harness require a ecu out of 99-04 or 00-04. do i need to trash the 98 ecu? are there any benefits of a 99&00 and up? Also how would i find the part number on the vette filter/regulator? thanks

We support ALL years of LS1 with new custom harnesses, factory reworked harnesses and PCM programming. For 95% of the swap projects there is nothing at all wrong with the 98 computer.

The Vette filter/regulator is GM# 19239926 or WIX # 33737.

Do you have to use the russell fittings?

Can I get away with the dorman fittings and attach rubber fuel injection hose between the regulator, fuel pump, and metal feed line to the front? Or is this unsafe because of the pressure?

Slight hyjack, but the Russell fittings on the in/return side when installed on my NAPA brand filter/regulator interfered with each other. I took those lines and gently spread them apart enough so that the fittings just clear each other. I'm assuming this issue isn't typical of say the GM brand or others?
