Default re-working wire harness

I am considering re-working my wiring harness myself. I have the schematics. Is there some FAQ or thread or place that has the typical things/wires removed from the harness?
Thanks

VANDEJR, Thanks. Tons of good info there.

What year/vehicle of harness did you do? I have pulled out all of the (yellow highlighted) pins that are not needed. I have not taken them out of the harness yet. Nervous I guess. I leave the green highlighted one in right?
Anyone can chime in with input.
Thanks

This is the page where I got the info:

The green highlighted ones will come from C2 - Underhood Fuse Block connector, you can use the underhood fuse block or make your own the same web site shows you how. I just did the same thing this weekend and I don't have the block so I will be making my own, all the pink wires need keyed voltage and the 2 orange ones need power from the battery. The other wires that are strays from the pcm are for other stuff like the tach and a few others.

Do you have a build thread or any pics of your wiring?

Is there really no where else to find wire harness info? Do most people send them off for someone else to re-work? Lt1swap has some good info, but I need a little more detail since I'm a newbie.

Edit: I did find some more info in faq, but I can always use more if anyone has other info.

Any reason you're not putting them back in?

If you are keeping the EFI I would keep the knock sensors. Theres really no benefit to eliminating them.....I would rather have them there and know that if the engine starts to knock the PCM will figure it out and retard the timing. If you don`t run them the PCM will not do anything and the engine will continue detonating till you figure out whats going on and fix it, or the engine hurts itself

Are the connector(s) for the MLPS switch for the tranny built into these harnesses or are they stand-alone?

I have a 2004 harness and can't seem to find the connectors

My 2000 truck harness had them. The connectors are hard to get out without persuasion because of some goop that gets put on them at the factory. They may have been cut.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll keep them. I don't know why he said to take them out. I have not had a chance to talk to him.
Thanks
