Yea, thats why I was originally planning on making it a turbo car. So I could make more power, without a huge cam.
Exactly, but now trying to integrate the 2ML70 trans will be a bit more work.

Essentially it's like a lot of builds... Just build a custom frame/cage and "hang" the Prius body over it. That's most likely going to be the best/safest/easiest way to do it.

It is a helpful post, youd have to destroy so much of the car, and reenforce sooo much just to make the car not twist in half when you give it gas... there was a guy that dropped a civic body on a corvette, thatd be a good route to take if you do this, maybe shorten it somehow, im not sure how thatd work with the torque tube, but it seems like a more probable solution.

I will tear out the firewall and entire floor pan.
I will set the engine, trans where I need them, and build all new sheet metal/cage around it, the rear will be 4-link suspension, and the front suspension will also be custom built.
All this will be covered up with the stock interior pieces, I would like everything to appear stock. The exterior will be completely stock, ride height, wheels, etc.
The purpose of this is not to just get a v8 in a prius. Anybody could do that, this is much more. Its a learning experience, and chance to challenge myself, and show people and myself what I am capable of. I really enjoy fab work, and testing my self.
I was originally going to build a custom buggy, with a 454, 4L80E, atlas, 14 bolts, 16"+ travel shocks, but right now I am more interesting in on road performance, and doing new things. I am studying engineering at Kettering University, and would like to really put my knowledge to use in something I am passionate about.

ive always thought it'd be awesome to take a prius & throw in a 4BT Cummins, & just DUMP fuel into it & route the exhaust in the stock location.
that would be ******* hilarious to see a prius just ROLLIN black smoke.

Its very doable... I know a guy that has a very stock appearing Saturn sc2 with a 440 inch sbc on alcohol. Its all race car underneath but sitting in a dark parking lot you'd walk right by it. At the track it pulls the front tires 2 feet in the air dead straight and runs low 9s, and has yet to twist in half... I say do it!

how bout this: ls prius tx mile car
they already have a ton of aero r&d into it, just do what youre talking about doing, drop it some, have a separate front splitter for top speed runs (if you wanna stay sleeper the rest of the time)... i could see it.
streetfighter idea is cool too

Yea... it leaves the factory with a CoD of .25
Adjustable 4 link, and coilovers would allow me to tune the suspension for different events.

If you read the title of the thread, you would see I am only interested in discussing the FEASIBILITY of this right now...
Idk if you have seen my other threads or my current project.... but I started a 454 LSX Trans Am at 19yrs old... If I want something to happen I figure out how to get it done.
If I dont buy a pruis in the next few months its only because I chose to build a GTM supercar first, but you can bet your *** that I wont forget about this 'pipe dream'.
