We've got the brackets and make custom length MSD 8.5mm wires for customers all the time. The brakcets can mount anywhere, what vehicle are these going in?

A popular place is down on the frame rail although we have done them for people who mounted them behind the dash. Maybe on the firewall as well.

I had a 72 chevelle and as I remember there wasnt a whole lot of space on the firewall but down by the fender well on the rail maybe?

not to thread jack but on a similiar note are there coil brackets that are less "meaty"? I'm running a 5.3 and I wasn't sure if the f-bodies or GTO coil brackets were a little less bulky or located the coils differently, cause.....ya they sure steal the spotlight haha.

The LS1 coils are a bit more low profile as compared to the trucks (assuming you've got D585s) but either way they look atrocious on top of the valve covers. Either buy some coil covers - a few after market companies make some or just get the corvette ones - or your other option is to relocate them.

There's a couple of guys that make some really nice brackets that mount them behind the heads - but that's dependent on if you've got enough space between the engine and the fire wall. I've seen some pretty ingenious and creative things. I'm about to start working on my relocation. I don't want to firewall or rail mount them so I'm going to truck and stuff them behind the motor between the tunnel space a bit using the heads as mounting points.
