Hey LSMCSS
If I send you my stock sender would you mind cutting mine down too?

I want to use the hole on the passenger side. What would you charge me ?

I saw one a few days ago that had the actual sender part that was too big to fit through the 12MM hole, but the threads were only 3/8 pipe. I wouldn't try to cut it because I was afraid it would cut through before I got it small enough. So the short answer to your question is NO.

The easy way to hook a coolant sensor to a gauge is to use a 98 Camaro Firebird coolant temp sensor. It has a separate output for the gauge and the PCM. No adapters, cutting, etc.

I believe it is the same. I am running autometer gauges on my car. I did put in the temp sensor in the rear of the passenger head with an adapter but never hooked it up. I just hooked up the original wiring and the gauge works fine. On one of I believe the stickies for the some of the original swap info they list a set of adapters to convert metric to English threads for sensors. The kit cost about $10 and came with about 4-5 adapters. I used one for the coolant temp and one for the oil pressure. I am only running the autometer pressure sensor since I ended up breaking off the original sensor behind the intake manifold.

OK this in the LSx swap guides stickie for the 67-69 Camaro specific thread. If you do a search for the Equus #9848 adapter kit it has all you need to adapt your sensors.

No cutting threading, etc involved. This comes with about 5 adapters and is a lot easier.

I'm aware this is an old thead but, I wanted to post what I did incase some else comes across it in the future, just like I did a couple of days ago. I turn down a 1/2" pipe sender to 12mx1.25. There is just enough meat on the sender to do it and I mean just enough.
I went through the hassle of doing this rather than replacing the gauge because my build is a 62 corvette resto and I wanted to keep the original gauges.
