I just went through all 14 pages and I am super impressed with your fab skills, and engineering prowess. I have a 350z and will be undertaking the LS2 swap here very soon in my own garage. It will be a daily driver as well!! I can't wait to see your finished product.

Subscribing!! Very cool swap. A guy on the truck side just swapped in a LM7 into a Porsche 944. Both these projects are really cool!!

This may have been asked on this thread before, but how do you plan on making the car go forward when the engine is installed backwards? I would think that to make the car go forward, you'd have to put the transmission in reverse.

the original transmission is designed to have the engine sit in the rear.
actually to use that trans in kit cars where the engine is mid mounted you would have to rebuild the trans ( flip the ring gear ) to have it spin correctly .

Holy crap Sam I forgot all about this. I am helping a buddy of mine who ownes a fab shop build a similar project. It's going to be his track car when it's done.

It's a Boxster S with a Subaru STI motor in it and custom flared fenders. It will weigh less thn 2500 lbs, have 315 R compound all around, and around 400 HP at the wheels when he is done.

Here are a few pictures of the turbo kit he build for it.

Adapter plate he had machines to mate the Boxster 6 speed to the STI motor.

got any more pictures of that crossmember installed?
and you got to admire how much room those boxers have in the rear ( and cuss at how tight the engine compartment is )

that thing should rock on an auto cross course!!

Here are a few.

This is with the fenders flairs bonded on. Once the mechanical, electrical, and safety stuff is done it will be time for paint and body work. It won't be show quality but it will be super nice for a race car. The STI motor is only 4 cylinder so it ends up being much shorter than the stock 6. He ended up having about 6" of space between the front of the pullys and the "firewall" behind the seats.

There isn't a lot of room to make a merge for all three and it would have added more time to the build with no extra benefit. From straight on it looks really good IMO.

A lotta gifted fabricators in this thread...well done!
I like the look of the triple exhaust pipes. The look is different & as you've said, looks good straight on.

Boy do you guys ever have some talent???

WOW!!!!

I have to say that this is some of the most creative/impressive engineering and fabrication that I have ever seen! And believe it or not I have seen a fair amount of it too!

Anyways I have been "lurking" around in the shadows of this forum for a few years now (as I've been studying up on some of this new school technology). As I have been slowly educating myself in preparation (I'm slipping an "LSX" into my old Jeep Scrambler). However, I just haven't had anything to contribute (so no real reason to join the forum either). However, I stumbled on your thread and it ended all of that!

SUBSCRIBED AND HOW!!! So all I can say is WOW! Keep up the great work! And you guys are some more talented that is for sure!! Kudos to all!
