Default LS1 swap starting...
So I just picked up a sweet 43k ls1/t56 complete setup out of a 2001 trans am. Im going to do a swap in my 1992 camaro. The engine came with the complete engine harness. The one question I have so far is where is the DLC OBDII connector? Or do I also have to purchase a dash harness for the DLC. Thanks

Simply commandeer the OBD II connector from any salvage yard vehicle and wire it where you want it. Buying the entire dash harness is a waste of time since you are eliminating 99.9% of it.

I noticed there is a 1 blue and 1 white 10 pin connector on the harness that have long wires which makes me believe they run into the car. Do those connectors go to the BCM or the data link connector or what are they for?

Read the wiring threads in the LS1 swap sticky on TGO. They are well covered

i figured out those connector from a write up i found on thirdgen.org. lots of useful info on the swap on that site

DLC is easy to do..

Pin 2: Diagnostic Signal Wire, this is the Serial Data Wire from the PCM, usually it's on PCM BLUE, #58.
Pin 4: Ground
Pin 5: Ground
Pin 16: Constant Power from Battery

All of the engine schematics are posted in this section. Just search for 99-02 schematics. You can use them to mod your harness.
