Default Front or rear sump oil pan ?

How bad are front sump oil pans (GTO style) when compared to rear sump pans ( fbody and others ) when it comes to holding oil in during hard launches and preventing the oil pickup tube from sucking in oil ?

No matter how hard the launch, it won't make oil flow up out of the sump far enough to uncover the pickup. I've never heard of fast GTO's needing to swap pans because of oil starvation issues.

how about running an fbody pan backwards ( like in a rear engine sand rail )?
would that cause any issues?
