so its been a few weeks ive taken off from working on the vette to get my gsxr running good for summer. Finally ive come to a realization i couldnt do this swap on my own so i hired a Mechanic to finish up the mating of the engine and trans. maybe by the end of the week i should have the drive accesory and intake on. and just need to pick up an ls1 wiring harness and ecu.

anyone know where i can get rid of my 5.3 harness? still in okie shape missing a few plugs.

Why are you getting rid of your harness? What will you be using?
Depending on the year, DBW vs cable, I might be interested.
As for the mounts, these old vettes are pretty flexible and may have twisted some in their life. I used a couple 1/4" aluminum spacers to get mine to fit.

Youve already got a return port. Passenger side near top of tank.
2)I have a 5.3 truck harness should i buy an ls1 hanress instead?
You can use the 5.3 harness.
3) where should the fuel pump be mounted?
Low and close to the tank. My pump and filter/regulator are mounted inside the corner frame rails, passenger side.
4) I have an LS1 intake do i need the 5.7 gasket or will the 5.3 work fine?
You need the LS1 gasket with the LS1 intake, not the truck.
5) what ecu should i use? (engine is a 5.3 with an 02 zo6 cam.)
5.3 will work fine.

pump: walbro 255, ebay. Buy one with the mounting hardware.
The Ls1 intake will accept the 5.3 injectors, wiring connectors, and fuel rail. If you switch to LS1 injectors, you'll need the LS1 injector pigtails.

The truck injectors are shorter. If you remove the plastic tips the injectors will fit the LS1 intake. The truck fuel rail will work fine with this but the lower profile LS1 rail wont fit over the intake. As far as I can tell, aftermarket rails will work.

got my oil pan yesterday but no windage tray had to order that.

after cleaning, threw on a few (6) coats of black semi gloss paint.

and ended up pullin the oil pan waiting on my tray...

hopeful tm ill put the cam in...gotta youtube how its done to make sure i dont mess up.

im still unsure about the hughes flex plate and adapter... from looking at it it looks very similar to flex plate i have. and im not sure exactly how im suppose to install it...do i put the adapter in first then the flex plate? what holds it to the crank? do i need to glue it down or something?
