Default 240sx ls2 pics / build

My goal is to have street driven 9sec s14... but truthfully ill be happy with low 10s.. and drive to and from the track..

first I had the ls2 in my old drag 240, but after awhile i ended up wanting a street car with a cleaner look!

Old ls2 s13 camed and tuned by CMS... 10.9 @116 running out of gas @ the 1000foot..first pass ever!

new 240sx the day I bought it, off to the paint shop to get the engine painted.

first day it came back from the paint shop, we got to work.. daft motor mounts and cms th350 tranny mount

headers fit great, even though they were made for the old 240sx

just waiting for the corvette covers at the time and nos install and its pretty much done

shifter in, and looking great!

ame spec-r wheels 18x9 and 18x10

qtp cutout and stock 240sx muffle.. best 200$ i ever spent!!

had the cage put in and seats installed

installed a s2000 engine start button in the oem cigarette lighter spot..

new plates.. i wanted LOL V8 but it was taken, so i guess this is the next best..

then the car went back to paint for the outside of the car.

This thing looks cool as hell, personally I liked your LS2 S13 better, but I'm just a fan of the S13. Anyways cool build man and keep us updated!

LSX Nissan's FTW!

yea they fit very well in the s chassis cars, there are a couple guys around my area with them, they are quick little sleepers. I have seen a rb26 240sx against a ls1 240sx and the ls1 dominated the race!

I'd like to know what you did to get your S13 in the 10s suspension wise. My S14 with the L92 blows the tires off even with 295 drag radials. What did you do to get it to hook? What are your plans for the S14? As soon as I put in a new T56 I plan on taking it to the track and start dialing it in. Its primarily a street car but I would like to know how to get it to hook when I need it to.

Thanks man, to be honest I miss that ****.. it would have been mid 9s already and still driven to and from the local tracks.

hahaha I know.. you can drop the motor in and out pretty fast from the top.. and the plugs are easy!

Yeaa the my old s13 was the biggest sleeping when I had my volk wheels on it.. ran into a couple of vipers and cobras before on the freeway when it was still 6 speed.. great times..

Yeaa that’s why I pretty much built this car, I love smoking track car with my street car!

Agx’s and Eibach sport line springs on soft, 28-11.5-15 et- street tire, leaving at 2k on the foot brake..

I could never get the car to hook when it had the t-56 that’s why I had CMS swap in the new th350, and now hooking its not a problem!

The s14 has the same suspension has the s13, but ill be using the Trans brake. Also I have 0 camber in the rear and you WILL break your axles if you get that car to hook, Start looking for some beefier ones asap

I am looking for either upper or lower adjustable control arms so I can dial in some of the camber from lowering the car on coil overs. I am running the Q45 rear diff with the 30 spline axles from the TT 300ZX and the Q45. So far they are hanging in there and we have given this thing quite a lot of abuse.

Have you ever played with shimming the subframe? My local technical college has a motorsports class that deals with race car suspension. They are going to corner weight my car and find the center of gravity so that I can play with pinion angles. They even want to take the class to the track with my car and try different settings so we will see how that goes. I'll let ya know what we find out.

Great looking car btw. I really like the 97 98 cars. Took me forever to find one. Can't wait to see what you run with it.

ooo shiny red, looks good man!

Ohh and im doing a LSX swap into a 86 300zx, so far only 3-4 guys including myself are trying to complete LSX swapped z31's

as for my rear end I have an modified s13 subframe, with q45 vlsd, one q45 axle and one z32tt axle, spl aluminum adjustable control arms, and so forth

awaiting stance coilovers to complete the suspension!

You need rear upper control arms (ruca) look on zilvia.net you can get them for pretty cheap now.. and those axles will break when you hit 1.5 60’s footers..

On my s13 I had sub frame spacers but not sure if they even did anything or not

97-98 front ends are the best by far, plus I have the oem Autech front bumper to go with it.. ill post those pics tomorrow.

that’s gonna be sick.. I don’t think I have ever seen it done either.. is it going to be a drag car or a street car?

It's going to be my street car/weekend racer. Just like what your doing, I like the fact of being able to drive it daily and just cruise on over to the track when I want to, and also whoop up on some ricers on my way to work and maybe some too!

yea, with the auto tranny you should not break axles at all.. im running the q45 rear end now too, but the only reason i swapped out the stock rear end was to get better mph on the freeway..

You said you could never hook with teh T56. Did you ever try leaving in 2nd gear? When on street tires I generally leave in 2nd even with the 3.54 gears but I haven't tried it on my BFGs at the track yet. I'm hoping that will reduce my spinning some.
