I've owned several Fox Mustangs, but never a Coupe. And since I had a spare engine from another project that I was not going to use, I decided to put it to good use and build this car; 1993 Mustang Coupe.

What is the curb weight going to be?
With the right combo you can be in the 8 s"

Thanks. And if curb weight is the same as race weight but without the driver, then I guess that would be 2,730-ish... That's with two nitrous bottles and all the make it go stuff. I weigh 190 lbs which brings the race weight to 2,920

The above numbers are the actual weight numbers on scales. The only "ish" part is a 1/2 tank vs. a full tank gas... Right now it has a 1/2 tank of gas so when it's full (5 more gallons) it will weigh a little more than the above numbers...

Now that weight numbers are flying. I'm at 2820 with me in it. Two poly seats, 6 gl of gas, pw, pl, all glass windows, alm ls1. I think my motor is just shy of 600 fwhp, it traps 132-134 at low 10's.
With your mph you will be in the 9.70's real soon. My car will cut 1.36-1.38 60' on a 4500 converter and leaving at 4000 on the brake NA.
What tire size you running?
With your mph you will be in the 9.70's real soon. My car will cut 1.36-1.38 60' on a 4500 converter and leaving at 4000 on the brake NA.

And the tires are 28" (325-15 M/T DR) On the T/B it will stall about 4200-ish... It's pretty tight because it's a nitrous converter. On the bottle it should got to 5500. My best time N/A was 9.82 @ 139.45 - 1.42 60' with only 25* total timing. And I had some arcing issues inside the distributor so I'm hoping with more timing and no more arcing I think it will go 140+ and 9.70-ish N/A... But it's really set up for the bottle and that's where it "should" shine. And if the weather holds, I should be able to get some passes on it this weekend.

^^^Thanks guys!^^^ And here's the required NHRA "oil containment device" that I had to add. It's sucked up to the K--member so nothing's lower than it originally was, save for the .063" material thickness of the pan. It's easy to remove and light weight so no bother to deal with when working on the car. There's not much oil in a dry-sump pan but I had to add it anyway... Rules are rules and there was no way to get a diaper on this thing.

This car is now certed to 25.2 & 25.3 specs. And no matter what the cage cert is, that stuff has nothing to do with a oil containment device. This kinda stuff falls under the safety rules like over flow bottles, window nets, tranny blankets, SFI flywheels, yada, yada... Every year they add something new and it gets more expensive and harder to incorporate. I understand the need for safety, but some of this stuff... Well, that's a thread for another day.

I agree, it is a good idea. I don't remember it being required when I had my s10 a few years back but could see that they added it. Car looks great 9.70 or so is fast without the bottle. My s10 went 10.90 on motor then sprayed 250 through the fogger it went 8.83. Converter was tight as hell, would only go 3800 on the brake. I see 8.30's in you future.

I tried to make some nitrous passes this weekend but had problems. I got two short passes before I called it a day. Both passes were small hits with one 1/8 mile pass turning a 5.83 @ 120.36 MPH with a 1.36 60' foot. And the second pass was looking even better until my nitrous solenoids stopped working and the engine flooded.
That pass is in the video below. The 60' on that pass was 1.26... <I'm pretty happy with that because there's more to come in that area.

New personal best: My 60' time was a little off @ 1.32, but it still ran a 5.69 @ 124.14 1/8 mile and a 8.86 @ 154.96 1/4 mile. Only got to make the one pass, and the bottle was cold and half full. I think it will run back in the 120's 60' and somewhere between 8.60-8.70 with a full and proper pressure bottle. I'll know next weekend because I'm going to try it again. ![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)
