From my experience it would actually be easier to swap in a LS1 then to swap in a Hemi.. getting rid of all the mopar computers will help alot. Just ask pick-a-part they've done Hemi swaps and its a real bitch to get them to work perfect.

Insurance would be a lot cheaper with a LSX swapped into the v6 car rather than the SRT8 version.. Would be original. But if you do it do it right. I believe you would need to run a new DBW pedal setup that would work with the throttle body on the LS motors. LQ9's can be had for pretty cheap and modifying LS motors is a lot cheaper than the HEMI and more options out there. But it wont be cheap to do. Wiring will be your pain in the ***. A stand alone harness would be the way to go and find where to spice in for your gauges and such, or run a custom cluster.
As far as the e-brake goes, if its just a straight cable you could pull the hand brake assembly from a car and bolt it in, and hook up your cable.. adjust the length to where you need it and i would think you should be good to go.

I have an '06 2.7 Charger with 190k on the clock. When it lays down, I intend on swapping in a 6.0/4l80e. It'll be paid off in a few years and resale value with this many miles is crap, so I might as well keep it and have fun with it. The cars themselves are awesome, tons of room front and back, huge trunk, and plenty of room under the hood.

I'm assuming the pedal e brake is a concern since you're planning on running a six speed? I'm staying automatic with a stall. The motor will have a cam and maybe heads, nothing over the top since it will be daily driven. A car my wife could jump in and go to the store in. Thinking a stock axle back from a gen 5 Camaro would keep things quiet, with cut outs of course

Craigslist ls1 Camaro $2,000
Fuel system $300
Custom mounts $150
Wiring and tune $300
Hoses $100
Driveshaft $250
Random **** $500.
So you have like $3500 into it. Part out the car and make $1000 back. This list is literally all you need. Swap the 4l60 in too.
Why wouldn't it be reliable? The engines are standalone they will run as long as there is constant and ignition. The wiring would be a little tricky for the gauges, but with a gauge pod and the speedometer app on your phone it would run just fine with a simple swap.

And the HEMI bs, is just marketing. Go learn something, then come back.

I used trans adapt motor mounts then built aluminium adapters to stock location. I used 1/2 x3 aluminium plate to make trans crossmember. i modified stock truck manifolds. drive shaft was built and adapter for rear diff.

If you have to ask, you better keep the 5.7 Hemi....
