Default 99 Corvette Wiring Harness

I have been thinking about doing an LSx swap into my Jeep, and may have found a wiring harness for it. I do not have much details on it yet however it is out of a 99 Corvette. I know that in the camaros 1998 is different than the rest, is there anything I should watch out for?

Also the vette harness will work with any of the PCM's (truck, f-body) correct?

The Corvette harness will be intended for an electronic throttle application. Camaro/Firebird harness is intended for cable throttle.

97-98 PCM and harness are not interchangeable with 99-newer.
99-02 PCM and harness are interchangeable, but 99-00 has EGR.

I started out with a 2000 Corvette wiring harness (red/blue connectors) for my '69 Nova conversion. Since I wanted to re-route the wiring as much as possible to keep it tidy, I ended up removing all the original harness wrap. Then I removed circuits that I wouldn't neet (rear O2s, AIR, transmission, drive by wire, etc). I bought an IAC and TPS pigtail off ebay and ran those wires back to the ECM connectors. I have also added electric water pump wiring, electric temp gauge wiring, and electric fuel pressure wiring to the harness loom. During this process I have eliminated the original body harness plugs as well as the under hood fuse block. I bought a relay/fuse box from Current Performance that I'll locate under my dash to provide power to the ECM, injectors, coils, starter, fan(s), fuel pump and water pump. Basically you can make any harness work with the same ECM "family" red/blue or blue/green.

this little magnifying glass / holder from Harbor Freight really helps with soldering:

Is there anyway to tell on the corvette harness that it is indeed for sure from 1999+? Also with this harness should the OBDII and fuse/relay box be connected to this harness? (unless it was cut off?)

Check the pinout of a 99-04 vs what you've got. Quick check is pin R1. 98 its missing, 99-04 is a ground

98's also have a ground loop from red to blue, so if you've got no wires crossing directly from one connector to the other, its a 99+

Got another question, I have read some about the pcm's and it seems that 1999-2002 are very similiar however I read that 1999 and 2000 have different operating systems on them and that the 2001 and 2002 are better. I found a 1999 PCM from a camaro, but unsure if it would be a good one to go with.

One other question, HP tuners can flash the pcm, delete vats etc to make it work as a swap stand alone system correct?

Youll be fine with the 99 PCM

My PCM was tuned with HPtuners, its more than capable of turning on/off the necessary functions

So the diffence is not the big between the 1999 and the 2001+ ecu and this camaro ecu would be a good one to go with?

Also what would be a good deal for one of these? (seems like from what i have seen they go for anywhere from $60-140)

<$100 with some damage
