X-pipe done, all 3 inch. Can't wait to hear it with just dumps on it, no mufflers. Probably going to go with magnaflows when the time comes to add tailpipes.

More small updates.

Got the firewall done, it's not perfect but it won't keep me from doing burnouts. Also got the L99 pump installed and DD idler relocation bracket installed. Master cylinder and front brake lines are ran.

Radiator cut into the core support. It's a champion 3 core, quality seems to be good.

Front end frame notched around suspension, painted, suspension re-installed. Rack is too wide, it is on the way back to the builder for a swap out.

And pictures of it finally on the ground again.

Working on rear suspension now, should have it done in a week or so, then it will time to assemble everything.

Finally pulled the truck out of the garage under it's own power. Brakes clutch and steering are done, now to finish wiring and putting the front and rear end back together. I have the next 3 days off so I'm hoping to drive it up to Heartland park to watch top fuel this weekend.

Love the truck and especially your attention to detail. Some serious quality welding going on there.

Thanks for the kind words. It's been a fun project but I'm tired of working on it and am glad I finally get to start enjoying it.

My buddy used it in his brother's wedding this weekend, it was cool because their great-grandfather bought the truck brand new and retired it to the fence row in the 70s.

I need to get some better pictures of the truck but here a a couple from this weekend.

Nice work!

My Brother is at the beginning of an M5 build and I think following your lead would be a good idea.

Thanks^^^^

I'm tearing it apart now to replace lifters, had one collapse at 6400 rpm. Hope it didn't do any more damage.

Love the heck out of this build. Hope it drives as well as it looks.

Are you running the stock 5.3 flywheel and clutch without modification?

Thanks, I am actually running a monster stage 2. So far it seems to work great, but I don't have enough tire to really test it out.

This is the lifter that took it off the road. I am waiting on the valve spring height micrometer so I can shim the springs then it can all go back together.

And here is another photo of the truck itself. I need to get it back outside and take some more pictures and video.

Truck is back up and running. Installed new gm lifters part number 12499225, with new lifter guides and also installed new PAC 1218 springs. Everything seems good now, it has another 50 miles on it or so and a bunch of time above 6000 rpm with no issues.

Inlet air temperatures were approaching 130° with the cone filter in the engine compartment so I am working on an air box/cold air intake. Once I get that done and my mufflers swapped out, I should be able to start adding in a little timing and getting the VE table finalized.

Here is the airbox in the mock up stage, trying to find the right placement. The box itself is 18 guage steel welded to the inner fender. Filter is a Napa 2487, stock for a 2002 silverado.

That little yellow circle on top of the airbox lid is a stock filter minder off of a donor silverado. I still need to finish up the intake tube and I'm waiting on a 4" coupler.

Very nice build! Now swap the rear fenders right to left and Bob the bed a bit and squirt it.
Viola, Project complete!

Thanks

I might be one of the few that like the fenders on the original side. Also, can't bob the bed due to the 20 gallon fuel tank that I insisted on using. And it won't get spray, maybe a maggy later on.

Here is the full quality video

And another short video.
