1973 Nova SS - LS1/ T56 & 70mm Turbo - Done!
Been a long road but it looks like this one is ready to go. The car got bounced back and forth between body shops/ suspension shops, etc - but it looks like its ready to cruise now. This is one of those cars I would much rather NOT give back to the owner. The car cruises down the road effortlessly, put it in 6th gear at 70mph and it drives like a charm, but step into the throttle a little and the smooth running, great gas mileage getting LS1 turns into a beast. A little throttle at highway speeds results in tire spin with minimal effort. This car does everything you could want any hot rod to do. Can you tell I'm pretty fond of this one??
The basics:
73 Nova SS
Corvette LS1 - all stock except valvetrain/ turbo cam

BRP mounts (yikes, never again!)
Cut down F-body alternator bracket/ custom idlers
LS1 Intake
Aeromotive rails
15 gallon aluminum fuel cell
Bosch 044 fuel pump/ - 8an lines
Battery relocated to trunk
F-body radiator/ Perma Cool fans

No, YOU build the coolest stuff.... I think I have asked before, but do you have pics/ info on your 65 GMC somewhere?? I want to see more of that. I'm still plugging away on my bagged 59 GMC when time allows. I also picked up another project of the turbo/ LSx/ AWD Sy-"clone" type, and as long as time allows and I stick to it, someday I can be having some boosted AWD fun like you!

Hey Randy, where do you have the vacuum line running too after it goes from the wastegate to the boost controller, then where does it run too after the boost controller? Thats the last vacuum line routing i need to figure out. And did u pick the vacuum line up local? if so where at?

Sucks you had to ditch the brake booster, must have been clearance problems with the exhaust? The last Nova I had that didn't have power brakes, you would about pull the steering wheel off trying to stop it in a hurry, and I didn't have nearly as much power as this car. Nice job though, makes me want a turbo too!

Ground clearance with the H3 pan sucks, that will be changed at some point. Trans tunnel got minor massaging and work around the shifter hole from the old 4 speed.
