Default 3000gt ls style swap?

anyone had experience putting an ls style motor into a 3000gt. my assumption is it would have to be a vr4 because it's already setup for rwd.

All 3000GT's and Stealth's have transversely mounted engines, even the TT/AWD versions. The AWD cars essentially have a transfer case bolted to the transmission that routes a drive shaft toward the rear. Using an LS4 and either the mitsu trans or a GM trans, it will probably be too wide. Putting an engine in longitudinally would be a huge undertaking. You've got to deal with this: cross member, steering rack, firewall, floor pan:

Well that's universal for any swap. IMO that would be the easy part of a 3S swap...

The wiring is easy! Orange wires to B+ and pink to ignition on. After that its just gauges, fuel pump, fans and the starter.

What other 'stuff' has you concerned now that the hard part is out of the way?

Please don't say it is the standalone computer tuning (i.e. removing VATS and all the unnecessary bagpipes and BS) which takes someone with minimal experience and proper software less than an hour if they have done it before. Geez, if it takes me less than an hour how long does it take someone who works on these things every day?

With this conversion you are going into mostly uncharted territory and rarely piloted waters. Coming from experience, your biggest obstacle will be fabrication - hands down. I suggest contacting the guy with the other car and see how, why and what he did - and make notes. If you don't have pretty good fabrication skills, I wouldn't even think of it and I would swap to another car.

I would give this swap a score of 7 or 8 out of 10 for difficulty with 10 being something akin to fabricating an entire chassis (you "only" need the front subframe), modifying the floor, and making custom body panels from raw materials or fabricating your own parts and making them look factory.
