GM Parts Direct has them for ~$31+shipping, so don't go much past $40! Part #10299146.

That is what I am using too. I mounted it just past my cross-member going toward the engine. I mounted a Walbro 255 about two feet behind it. Does GM parts direct have a store front anywhere or are they just web?

I've heard mixed reviews on that filter/regulator. Some have said that under extreme acceleration it may not deliver enough fuel to a modified engine. They suggest the regulator being closer to the fuel rail and the use of a return line. What's gives? I really need to figure out what system to go with on my car.

Just spend the coin and buy a billet fuel rail system with matched Aeromotive pump, reg, and filter. I'm kidding, but your right there are alot of options. I'm not modifing the engine this year and my first upgrade will be headers, so the supply issue will not come into play.

If your running a modified engine then a regulator and return line from the engine is a must. This way ALL of the fuel is available for the engine!

Could this Holly regulator be used in conjunction with the '99 Vette filter/regulator? Maybe it would help compensate for any fuel shortage at high rpm... unless I'm reading it wrong.

I can't see where that would be necessary. Those are handy if you run FI I guess. As the boost climbs they start blocking the return line, causing the fuel pressure at the injectors to rise.

If the Vette filter/regulator isn't what you want for your application, you can just use an aftermarket AFPR like the Aeromotive unit I used on the 91 Z28. I don't see much functional difference either way though.

I'd like to keep as much out of the engine compartment as possible. One line coming up to the fuel rail and nothing else visible would be ideal. I also want to keep it simple and use GM parts as long as they'll work for my application. If it works on a Camaro or Corvette LS1, why can't it work on my car? I don't know why but so far this fueling issue has been the most confusing for me so far.

I'll be running an in-tank pump with a 3/8" output line. The return line will be 5/16". That translates to a 6AN and a 5AN? Should I have the chassis builder use 3/8" both directions??

What I really need is a nicely detailed diagram listing tubes sizes, all the parts (with part # & manufacturer) like the separate regulator and filter (or R/F combo) as well as all the AN fitting pieces and sizes I need. Can someone help out with that? I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I just need a good reliable low maintenance system and I need it explained to me in detail. I'm still learning all this stuff...
