Here is a hyperlapse video doing a couple fittings with the Mastercool 71550 AC hose end crimper. I had a little trouble at the start of the video with the pin and had to tap it in with a hammer.
This tool runs around $140. The local Napa charges $4 per crimp and this system has 8 fittings = $32. I probably would not buy this tool unless I was planning to do at least three or more systems, but I will say having it on hand was very convenient and allowed me to mark and crimp as I went along. This was loaned to me by an awesome local hotrodder who does refrigeration for a living. I'll be sure to pay it forward when someone else needs my help or tools!

Like the others said, it really does look factory the way it's all integrated. Nicely done. You have me thinking more about finishing my bracket for the low mount while it's easy to get to...

Thank you! I am really happy with how the hoses turned out. Now I have to find the motivation to wire up the clutch and fan so I can put a charge into it!
For everyone in the middle of a swap or upgrades, I gotta tell you all the road blocks, frustrations, and delays are worth overcoming. Keep pushing at it piece-by-piece and eventually you will find yourself enjoying the hell out of your car again!

Jimbo you have got to get back to work on that car, especially now that you have a garage!
Well it finally happened - I had an unexpectedly rough exit on a humped driveway the other day. When I finally got around to inspecting the damage it was clear my v-band is done for
I can replace the v-band but this is just going to happen again. I am thinking about using a sawzall to cut off the flanges, possibly behind the welds, and then installing a Torca clamp http://www.normaamericasds.com/sites...fs/Coupler.pdf Any thoughts on this?

I have issues with the torcas pulling apart on mine underneath too. In tight spots, or high ground clearance builds the torca works decent, UNLESS you are wrenching on the build a lot in which case they are not ideal for service fit. This is where V-bands shine, but if tough, good seal, and serviceability is a goal? Cant beat ball and socket imo

I am using torca style clamps made by Walker now. I like them because they are inexpensive and don’t distort the pipes. Also they are low profile if you can clock them with the bolts facing towards he floor of the car.
