Default starting build... ls1 c-10

im finally getting started on my build... ive got a 68 chevy swb c-10 that im puttin a bolt on cammed ls-1 and th400 in, and i have a few questions.. ive got pacesetter longtubes and i was wondering if anyone has ever used them or know if they even get close to fitting?? another thing is on the tank should i bring the one from the camaro and relocate it at the back by the bed or would it just be fairly easy to keep the behind the seat tank but convert it to whatever it needs to be... (dont know what it is but read it somewhere...) thanks for any input ive read some of the stickies too but couldnt find this info

the pacesetter headers will work with the 1 inch setback motor mount adapter plates. you have to grind a little away on the passenger side rail to get them to fit. I'm assuming that you're going fuel injected so the tank from the camaro would be ideal if you can get it mounted in there, but the behind the seat tank will work. if you use the original tank you will need a pusher and puller pump (low and high pressure, if you go external)

I used a walbro 255 inline pump and corvette style filter/regulator and my behind-the seat gas tank. It's about as cheap as you can get.

I took a set of $129 flowtech BBC headers for C-10 and fitted them to LSx flanges. I tried the flowtech F-body LS headers, they can be made to fit, but it's a pretty crappy fit since the drivers side header makes a turn for use with a Y-pipe.

My modified BBC flowtechs fit AWESOME. No clearance problems, and they exit the way they should.

Doug Thorley also makes a header just for LSx swaps, 67-72 and they fit great.

$500 for the DT LTs are not a big price tag, I love them on my 71.
the Pacesetters will work but require cutting frame and denting the tubes (and they are small tubes as well...)

Let me know if I can help, I have LQ4/4l80e in my 71.

Other options, I believe the stock TBSS and GTO manifolds, and maybe some 'vette ones will fit without mods.

Everything requires mods except for the DT headers and some S&P headers.
