When you get bored with that car, I'd like to be the first in line to buy it. I'll probably have to sell a few things, cut it down to 2 meals a day (or maybe 1) and send the kids to a public school, but it'd be worth it.

you can be 2nd.. I'm first haha.. this is my dads car so if the car gets sold.. I"ll be the one buying it we took it out after the dyno today.. and WOW... it had a miss under a load so it only made 400 the first pull. we figured it out and made a few more pulls... ended up at 535 hp and 558 tq not too bad for a truck motor (LQ4)

We changed all the plugs and one of the wired might have been an issue

Nothing yet. I'm not making much power with my stockish 455. I make just over 320whp.

I'm probably just going to rebuild or replace it and then put 3:73 or 3:90 gears while I'm at it. I have a th400 so I dont want to go higher

Good Run......

How much boost?

How did the torque curve look and what rpm did you make max or target boost at?

What rpm did it fall off at?

What were your IAT's and EGT's if you have that info?

Bozz

congratulations on getting this going. you work FAST. 535 wheel hp at 8psi = STOUT!

I wouldnt rebuild that rear end though if it were me. a good buddy of mine spent over a grand putting good parts in his stock nova rear end. moser 28spline axles etc . it was a 10 bolt. he snapped the rebuilt rear end on his fourth pass down the track. granted his car is a stick shift and it is harder on parts etc

he replaced it with a 9" 35 spline axles full drag spool from qp and all is good now.

I would spend the $1500 or so and get a 9" . a locker is more expensive , and they are also more fragile than spools. my buddy drives his car with a full spool on the street. to and from the track and to shows.

this is just my humble opinion.

again, congrats on the strong numbers. I would love to see this thing in action in person

I have a friend that has a 9 inch with strange 4.30 gears and all that I texted him to find out how much he paid and where he got it from.

His nova is nasty, runs 10s on motor with a 383 stroker, should have seen what it did to his 10 bolt lol

Thanks man let me know. I am playing with the idea because I would hate to spend a few hundred or so getting this one fixed just to trash it again later. I could buy a 9" and then sell my posi

At your power level I'd atleast go 12 inch but I'm a do it right the first time instead of going back type of person so is go with a 9 inch.

I know for a fact that your throwing your money away with a 10 bolt and that power, it's just gonna fail at some point and **** you off lol.

I'd like to do a 9 inch if I can find a good deal
