Well I haven't updated her in a while, mainly because I have been working on my house pretty solid for the last three months, but, so far back in may the car went 14.4@96mph, with no rear brakes, and close to the stock GTO tune with lower fuel pressure, running right about 11.0:1 AFR.

On Friday, I took it back to the track after spending a few days working on some stuff, I added rear brakes, came straight off of a 200? Grand Marquix, fit like a glove! Also, put on some 235/60-15 ET streets, Hooked up the Line Lock, slightly bored and hour glassed the throttle body, and maybe some more minor things I cant think of, ha ha

Anyway, she went 13.46@103mph, with a 2.0 sixty, in 90 degree weather. Overall I am ok with the results so far, as I haven't gotten the proportioning valve right yet to get the car to stall without pushing the car forward. The best I have seen is 1600rpm before it starts pushing. Once I get passed that I am hoping for at least a 1.8, maybe even a 1.7 sixty, and I'll shoot for the high 12's. I am still on the stock LS1 cam, and that's killing me, but I don't want to cam it, only to come back to an LS6 cam when I get the turbo on there....

Thanks for looking, and here are a couple pics of the exhaust wrapped, at my intake temps at the start line where WAY to heatsoaked for my tastes, ha ha

EDIT: One of the main things is I advanced the timing to 29 Degrees and have it running around 12.5-12.8 AFR now....

Well here are some updated pics of the car, along with the weight of it, I was disappointed to find out the car weighs so much(for this chassis), but also happy that this motor still trapped 103 in 90 degree heat( and midwest humidity ), pushing 3240lbs down the track(that weight is with me in the car, it weighs 3062)....

So in a couple weeks I will go back to the track to see what it can do with better weather, and I am still up in the air on if I want to throw a cam in it for the rest of this year or not. I plan to go LS6 cam for the turbo over the winter, but I don't think I will get much for gains over the LS1 cam it has. On the other hand, I could get a good NA cam, but then I would just be taking it out this winter when the LS6 one would be going in..... Decisions Decisions.....

I don't think they take fibreglass there, ha ha, I dropped off two loads there in the last two days, so I asked if I could stop by with the car, they don't care.... I am still disappointed neither of us will make it down to LS Fest.....

That's part of why I love the car, It has that look at me ricer look, ha ha.

On a side note, went to the track again, wasn't planning on it, but ended there anyway, and boy was it crowded! I only got three runs, best being 13.27@104.1mph, so that is the best so far, and I am happy with it....

Cool build! The 4.8 is very underestimated. I've got one in my S10 and I'm running mid 14's on motor with a crap tune. Should be in the 13's once I get it properly tuned.

Bigger stall would help out quite a bunch I would think....a 2200 is damn near stock isn't it?

I think stock would be upper teens, but it doesn't matter since I am only seeing 1700rpm anyway, I really don't know what I should do for a stall, because I drive this on the street a lot and don't want too much of one making it hard to drive..... Once I get the brakes locked in better, I might be able to cut a little better 60, but yeah, something like a 3K stall would probably be a good start.

Well, I am stuck on 12 hour days right now, so the updates will be few and far between for now. I started taking the front of the car off so I can put in my LS6 cam. I double checked both the part number, and the size of the lobes, and it is a true LS6 cam 02+, which has the .551/.547 lift!

This is how I left it, only worked on it for an hour, just have too much to do, and after working all day, you get tired quick.....

Thanks for looking,

John

Well, took the car for a spin last night, felt a tad bit sluggish off the line compared to before, which I expected, but overall it feels pretty good! Hard to tell how much it helped, but I'll find out next sunday when I go to the track.

With less low end torque, it does get me up a little farther on the converter, about 1850-1900rpm, compared to 1600-1700 it was at.

I am predicting around a 12.70-12.80 with this cam, and the exhaust dump I will use at the track, as long as the temp stays cool....
