Got to love income tax time sales! Ordered the Afco shocks and coilover kit. Ended up being about 250 bucks more then qa1s since I didnt realize the shocks dont come with the coil over kit. I knew they didnt come with the springs.

Start of the parts came in.
Spohn LCA's with their del-sphere joints.

Mufflers should be here monday, Coilovers on tues and DMH cutouts will be a while theres a 2-3 week wait on every company selling them.

Still searching for a used 90mm nitrous plate. No luck yet.

Coilovers.

Crazy question. Afco says to use 7-8" aprings with these shocks so I got 8". Why doesnt the adjusters even hit the spring until halfway up the shock? This is right where the adjusters hit the spring,

Also I have to open up the hole in the LCAs to fit the shock. Comes with a ring to stengthen stock lcas but the bolt spacing and opening in that direction fit fine on the spohns but its the other direction (balljoint to joints) need opened up a fair amount to fit the shock.

Painted. Tomorrow Ill assemble it all back together.

This completes painting frame and suspension!

Spoils of my Summit run.

Qa1 thrust bearing for inbetween the coil and the adj screw for easy smooth adj. Measured the Afco coil and coilver screw and even though listed as a 2.625" ID coil compared to qa1 2.5" ID its really 2.5" also. Which Im glad since the qa1 thrust bearing is half the price of the afco one and was also in stock at Summit. You can use qa1 coils then too Im guessing.

Spanner wrench to adjust the screw on the coil

New swaybar endlinks and a boot that might work,

Trimmed the LCA for the adj ****

Coil wouldnt fit inside the old spring pocket so I had to take a cresent wrench and bend out the edges to fit the coil inside so itll fit all the way up.

Other then that it all went together quickly besides the pup constantly wanting me to throw the ball HAhaha.

How it sits now. Ill let the springs settle then Ill adjust the height.

Sorry havent updated this been spending the time over on my s10 forum thread because I ended up having major problems. Ill post the pics when Im home from work in the morning. Basically the stock uca ran right into the top adj **** and broke the shock studs off. Afco is repairing/replacing them for free including shipping and even had a ups truck come to my house to pick up the shocks. I ordered some umi uppers to fix that issue. Truck ended up an inch lower then before, 24.75" fender height to 23.75" so the coilovers will have to be cranked up some. Looked sick but unpractical around here.

Was on the phone with afcos lead fabricator and installer and discussed the situation and told him that i am going to swap out the uppers so it shouldnt happen again. They sent a ups call tag for a truck to come pick them up this past friday. They will be repaired and sent back along with a free shirt!!!

Well its taken 6 hrs over the past 3 days but finally got the uca off. Theres no damn room around those primaries so having to use a flex head gearwrench and a crescent wrench on the end for leverage I manage to unbolt the nut a solid 1/8 turn each time then there was no room to get the uca off the 2 pressed in studs so I had to lift up and down on the balljoint end to wobble the studs slightly while prying on the heads of the studs until they finally come out so I could get the uca out. Still waiting for the umi's to arrive but paint the now uncovered frame in the morning.

Shocks came back today so good to go! I cut out the stock coil centering ring because I found out that the shocks piston got bent and one was even cracked which Im guessing that the centering ring contributed to that. The coilover wouldnt fit inside that ring at the beginning so I ended up bending it out to fit it up there but didnt take into acct that the shock swings out with suspension travel which the outboard side of that ring was right against the shock while there plenty of room on the back side so I cut out that outboard half and gained a solid 3/8" which gives me all the clearance I need. Shock now bottoms out on shock stud hole when swung out.
