there is no reason why you shouldnt be able to get your truck to hook. I was running the same leaf springs. if i remember correctly i took the second spring and turned it around so the longer end is on the front side. not 100% on that though, it was a ling time ago. i was running QA1 single adj shocks rear and QA1 single adj coil overs up front with UMI upper and lower control arms. I never had Cal-Tracs, I wanted them but never got around to getting them. I was running the exact same wheel you are on the rear and matching front runners with a 295/65R15 M/T drag radial and a 3.50 gear 1.51 60' - 9.8XX @ 138 mph all day long, with damn near the same suspension setup you have, actually less suspension than you have.
**** SCALE YOUR TRUCK **** get the weights as close to 50% front and 50% rear as you can, if that means adding weight do it.
Raise your front end up to where its level to the rear, I love the slammed look too but it doesnt help you get the weight to transfer. stiffen up the rear shocks and loosen up the rebound on the front shocks to help get that front end up. put the front adj on the caltracs to the upper hole and the rear on the lower. fill up the gastank and nitrous bottle, put your weight in the drivers seat and adjust the caltracs bars where the fit perfect, (where the bolts go in easily). start with the tire pressure around 12 psi and go up 1/2 psi at a time and you will see your ET drop each time you do it. do that until you start slowing down then go back to the previous psi. have fun

Well noticed the rear of my truck seemed loose and heard a banging noise under hard upshifts and when downshifting but wasnt sure if something was wrong or if it was just because I now have much softer shocks back there and worn out belltech leafs, So I get under there and see that on the passenger side both axle u boltshave stripped out and the leafs were now a 1/2 inch below the axle just hanging. Much more and the u bolts would have stripped the rest of the way and fallen out. So note to all, dont use autozone 1/2" u bolts when you have torque and drag radials, I just put those in this past spring when I set up the pinion angle and had to cut off the old u bolts. Grabbing a set of pro-comp 9/16 u bolts tonight.

About a year ago, I was looking for a new dd, manual transmission cars too. I looked at TL type s and cruz eco. Then an 07 g35s sedan 6mt popped up on craigslist (first year of the new body style). I got it for less than a new eco or used TL type S and couldn't be happier with it. I think it's better than the 335i. The 3.5 engine in 07 was a whole new redesign and has more in common with the new 3.7, than the old 3.5. Redlines at 7500 and it's really well balanced with good steering and brakes.

Thanks ill definately check those out. I have a 96 maxima right now and it has never missed a beat. But the only problem is i cant keep it from rusting away. Seems every time a fix a spot it comes back twice as bad. Thats pretty much the reason im looking for somethimg new. I guess the wheel well amd rockers were prone to rusting out on these though. Wonder if the new maximas and the g35 are better in the rust protection? I know the new hondas and acura hold up against rust pretty well. I keep my cars for a long time so i want to make sure i make the right choice. My truck is the first vehicle ive had. Bought it in 03 and then the maxima i bought 4 years ago off a buddy to use as a dd so i wouldnt have to drive the truck in the snow and crap anymore. So im looking for something that will last a good 8 years atleast of the daily grind.

when you 1st put those autozone u-bolts on, did you go back and tighten them again after driving on it a day or two later? they do stretch and have to be re-tightened. reason why i say this is because i had autozone u-bolts on my truck with absolutely no issues at all.

Yea I found out they loosen up when I did the axle swap 7 years ago. Used ubolts from summit with those and found out they loosen up when I checked things a few weeks later. This time I retightened them after a few days. So they either loosened up again or those fine threads pulled through. Maybe I tightened them too tight? I know these procomp ones have a much beefier coarser thread on them.

Made it to the track tonight, it was packed and only managed to get 3 runs in, previous best was 13.1@113 to tonights 12.6@114! Need to make some nitrous runs!

Still a 2.0 flat 60 foot. Tcm is wired in and the scanner is picking up the speed now. It did make a differnece since it then wouldnt idle for **** and my fuel trim were way off so i retuned my ve and maf and tuned my base idle airflow to get it running again. Oh and since i had buddies racing with me they gave me the heads up that only my passenger wheel was spinning each time i was in the burnout box. But i tried spiining them on the street and both wheels still spin so the clutches are starting to go out.

My buddy noticed that during my burnouts only the passenger tire was spinning. If I take it easy at first when I start spinning them theyll both spin but if I just rev it up and dump it only the passenger would spin. Guess my ford racing carbon clutches are wearing out?

Spent most of the day helping my uncle cut down a maple and cherry tree on his buddies orchard. We split the wood up 3 ways. Still felt pretty peppy surprisingly. Good old american v8 torque!

I see your goin to 42, Ive always picked up .5 sec goin to Norwalk, plus its an all round better track period!. Once you fix diff prob you should head out to Norwalk to get a good time! Lol

Yea my buds and I have been wanting to go to Norwalk because we've heard its a much nicer track and faster but its almost 2 hrs from my house which is a bit much for me since I drive the truck to and from the track and wouldnt want to have it towed from such a far away place if need be. Plus we get more runs in at 42. Maybe someday though well go to Norwalk.
