if it's legit stuff, the only catch is the tubular k-member you need. And the fact that the turbo is too small for a lt1 much less an ls1 to do much without pushing it to it's limits.

edit: these turbos are usually used in cars to boost power _to_ the 300hp range. You would need 2 to really power your car.

Personally I'm a turbo dummy myself and I have been getting the itch seeing all the guys on here going turbo so I googled LS1 turbo and this came up so I googled it with the company name and found similar replies as safemode's on other forums. So if you are a DA that makes 2 of us. I would like to think we are just not edgeimykaded.

Nothing will fit right and the chinese turbo wont last you a month! We charge double to put kits like this on because of all the fabbing we have to do!

I build one off turbo kits for mostly Toyotas, and a good turbo alone is anywhere from $600-1400(ball bearing) its all Cinese junk with a turbo that is way too small for a V8

if you got it and resold the 'brand new' tinyturbo to recoup some funds for a legit sized turbo would the piping/flanges be adequate as a baseline?

I have had two different turbo setups on my old truck and am doing one on my new project. The turbo alone at cost was $1400. Let me give you my advise... you get what you pay for. If you buy cheap **** you will end up spending more than you would have spent if you just bought good stuff in the begining because you will either have fabrication costs or will be replacing it later.

I can tell you from experience everytime I tried to go cheap on something I ended up replacing it later at twice the expense. Buy good stuff the first time and cry about it once.

Go and read the forced induction forums and look for the ebay kits. they do make good power but most switch out to a larger turbo. The big problem with the kits is the downpipes not mating on the passenger side. It seems that a loose initial fit before snugging everything down "generally" fixes this issue.

chinese turbo wont last you a month!
I know everyone rags on these and these comments have been beaten to death. I for one will say that those turbos aren't getting some of the credit they deserve. I run a GT45 on my Race car and it hasn't given me any problems. Several others at the track do too, with great results.

Is there some failures? sure. Do some of the name brands have failures too? You bet.

Now, in saying this, I am not advocating running out and droping $1k into that particular kit, but it isn't all bad either and yes that turbo is really small, but, it's cheap and easy to upgrade too.

Seriously go through the forced induction forum on the boards and you will see that many have these cheap kits and are pleased with them and upgrade as their butt dyno gets bored. But just like everything else on the internet, you will either find praise or poo-pooing because generally people who are overall content with a product will keep it to themselves.
