Just an FYI, we have seen instances where a ground was needed from the passenger side of the engine (where battery was connected), to the driver's cylinder head (where harness was grounded). Grounding is key.
And if you had just run a ground wire to each component instead of trying to ground things through the motor then you would have avoided the problem in the first place. That must have been a bitch to figure out.
If 90% of eletrical problems are related to grounds, then doesn't it just make sense that eliminating grounds will get rid of 90% of electrical problems?
I have a single ground wire running from the battery to the firewall. Zero electrical issues.
