Ok I have a 03 Mach1 and the motor has a knock. So I have 3 options right now and they all cost about the same.
1. Let the shop strip, rebuild and stroke my motor... 5k
2. Get a forged longblock and swap it myself... 5K
3. Ls swap... 5-6K
Odviously im gonna get alot of opinions on this and im open to all of them so lets hear it. Any advice is welcome I respond well to comon sense.

Forged longblock, swap yourself. You're going to need a new transmission anyway, I beat the crap out of my 3650 and it was on the way out. 4.30s, drag radials, etc. LS are great but you're going to have more headache making gauges work, hydroboost, etc. Put a built motor in it, spray or supercharge it, and call it a day.
(I had a mach if you couldn't tell)

Where are you located? I have a full 4v long block with forged internals and a turbo kit for sale if interested. I've also done an LS swap into a 2000 GT which is my current car. You will spend a good bit swapping and if you're inclined a lot of time doing the swap BUT the displacement is a huge bonus and the power band/rev will be similar with the right cam.
What do you really want to do with the car or what are your goals for it if you do swap motors?

You have a little more of a dilemma with your car because it is a Mach1. Mine was a plain jane v6 and it cost me about $4500 to do the swap including price of the car. If you don't care for the ford power plants and you plan on keeping your Mach forever, then I would say swap in an LSX of your choice. For resale value I would keep the original engine.

I've been looking to do this swap into my 02 gt. I keep hearing it is worth it. Im just trying to figure out what I need to do for wiring and gauages. That's the hardest part from what I understand.

id rather build the current 4.6 in it...
too much trouble with the swap imho and the mach has roughly the same hp and respond to mods just as good...
slap on a ported eaton from a termi and call it a day after the build lol
