Default Reprogramming, what to change and remove

Well I am going to be sending out my PCM to be reprogrammed for my Jeep Wrangler and I just wanted to list the known changes to the PCM and if I left anything out, please, list it and if i am getting something changed that's not neccery, please let me know. This is for a 2001 LS1- 4L60E (non raceing Jeep)

1:disable VATS
2:disable air pump
3: Change the cooling fans to turn on @ 180*
4: Change the settings for the proper tire size and gear size
5: disable fuel tank EVAP and cannister purge
6: rear o2 sensors STAY ON
7: I hope the idle speed will be ok for this setup
8: I hope the shift points will be ok for this setup

Well did I leave anything out?
Did i list anything i shouldn't have done?

Thanks

I don't know what esle you are missing why not ask advice where you take it to.
I would send it to Speartech, he can program it to you application.

I had to disable the "Low Speed Fan Control" diagnostic also. I wired my fan relays to use the High Speed Fan control pin from the PCM, and it threw an error code for not seeing the Low Speed Fan pin connected to anything. Depends on how you wired your fan controls.

You need to specify the off temp for the fans also. If you're running a 160 thermostat, I'd use an on-temp of 180 and an off-temp of 170.

For the rest, that's close to what I did but be aware there are multiple codes behind each of the systems you listed. The evap purge and vent have about 4 diags each, for example. Make sure the shop gets them all...if they know what they're doing, you can just list the systems you want shut down and they'll dig out all the associated error codes.

Why use 180 on with a 160 thermostat? Seems to me it will always be open when hot, even when it is not really necsecary, best fuel burnig temparature will not be 160 I guess. Wouldn't it be better to have a 180 thermostat with 180 settings?
Anyone can verfi this?
Thanks

The colder thermostat will over-cool the engine at highway speeds, when fan settings are not relevant. I don't know what temp 'stat he is running, just took a guess.

In general, you want the fan hysteresis to be happening above the thermostat's open temp. If you push the fans against the 'stat, engine temp will vary instead of being nice and consistent.

I think I would set my temps with a aprox. 180/170 stat at:
195 low speed "on" and 185 "off", and high speed 205 "on" and 195 "off", or the high speed settings like stock low speed settings. Would that work?
we need some experts here, thanks
O, and does anyone sell the shims that can be put in a stock stat, to have it open sooner(like in one off the how to's) What shim for aprox 180 degrees?
peter
I changed the starting temps a little after consideration, this gives the radiator and movement a change to do his job before the fans turn on, I think the cooling syatem should be wrking without the fans most of the time, when driving. Will this work?
What are the stock setting for the thermostat, low speed and high speed?
I think stock is pretty good allready, maybe just take the same number only 10 less for each orso....idea???
pro's and con's????
Thanks
Peter
