Cost is hard to say, too because it depends on how much motor you want. But, the conversion parts are about $1500-2000.
BOAT = BREAK OUT ANOTHER THOUSAND
A big block jet boat isn't much better - but at least the speedometer and fuel gauge don't meet in the middle and hold each other up...

Depends on what size impeller you are spinning. If its an A or AA and you are under 45mph all the tests I have seen show better fuel economy with a jet than an I/O given the drives are in the same hull with the same motor in front of them. So with a LS in a liberator you probably get much better part throttle economy than a 5.7L I/O production boat. Of course the trick is keeping it at part throttle LOL.
