Default Conversion Harness Suggestions

I am puting a '08 TBSS LS2 and a T56 into a '71 Malibu and need a harness / need my oem harness reworked. I have looked at a lot of different companies (Current, Painless, Speartech, Hotrodlane, etc.) and was hoping I could get some opinions and suggestions on who to go with or who to stay away from. So many options...

Thanks

Speartec has been a long time vendor on this site and a favor of most.

Most Vendors will do a good job now a days.. but some do offer great or better customer services, Quick turn around, etc. I see you have already noted most of the most commonly used vendors and I don't think you can go wrong on any of those ones. (IMO Speartec has been the most common one used for a long time, but not saying many others can not provide what you need as well).

I've done my Chevelle on in the past and doing my Nova swap currently.

Good luck...

Personally, I am partial to Current Performance, might be because they are just around the block from me. But I have never had an issue with them, and they not only build the harnesses in house, but they do swaps also, so they have their hands in these builds and can answer questions and accommodate people's needs without just guessing. They just finished up a '97 Jag swap with an LS3, magnuson and the 6L80E trans that I posted pictures of in another thread. It was a really nice build. Kept the cruise control, manual shift mode in the trans, and all the factory gauges in the car work. So they definitely know their stuff.

Be carefull of some companies that give you a low initial price that keeps climbing due to things that need to be added that they know will need to be added upfront. You also have a 58 tooth reluctor so some companies won't do it. PSI will.

I love my Speartech harness. My only bitch was that I thought it could have been a little longer to get the computer inside, but more time to lengthen it from factory length = more money.

I built mine, and have fixed ones that have been done by the smaller companies that claim to know what they are doing.

Agreed, companies to stay away from would be helpful too.

Thanks for all the suggestions fellas. Keep them coming, the opinions help.

Speartech has done 2 for me, one for an '89 Camaro conversion, made the harness to relocate the PCM inside the car and "married" it to the harness in the car, and one for a '71 Nova conversion. Both went in the car and started right up, drove the car, no issues!

I did my own also. To make it perfect you really need to have the car in front of you. That way you can secure the PCM, then run the wires where they need to go, and shorten or lengthen the ones that need it.

I'm using Current Performance for my Xtreme 5.3l swap. Almost all the s10 guys use this company and have not heard of any complaints. His price is pretty high but his harness is plug and play and not a stand a lone harness. I guess he is very good since when I ordered mine there was an 8 week wait.

I used a Current Performance harness in my 93 S10 to a LS1/T56 swap. It was great quality and didnt take too long to get. I will buy from them again if need be.

Look up Aknovaman here on the board, he can rework your existing harness. His website is LSxswap.com Also, Jesse@wait4meperformance they are very good at reworking harnesses and they're reasonably priced.
