I have a 3 wire sensor and running a chevelle SS water temperature gauge. Will the gauge read properly by using the green wire from the sensor? Thanks...

No one is using the stock gauges in the older muscle car swaps? I want to run the stock gauges. Street & Performance makes a 12mm x 1/2 adapter but the three wire would be a clean installation if it would read correctly. Thanks.

Depends if your original gauge is electric or does it have the probe fitting that screws into the head. If electric then it will work, if its the probe fitting then you will need the adapter fitting inorder for it to screw into the LS head.

Any scoop on whether this works on the factory GM gauges? I've got a 67 Camaro with the factory console gages that I'm trying to figure out the best way to make work. I know about drilling the head, water pump tap, and S&P adapter.
If the 3 wire sensor would work, do you have to connect the remaining two wires to anything? I've got a temp sensor already connected to my engine PCM.

Thanks for the reply. I've got another temp sensor that is providing the temp reading to the PCM.
I'm not sure if this one would be compatible with my current harness and PCM so wonder if I could simply install this one on the opposite head and connect only the 1 wire to feed my original analog gauge? Not sure about the ohms issue either which is why I hoping someone on here has already tried this and could share their results? Tks.

I was going this route before I just decided to tap the drivers side block plug 1/2" NPT.
You'll need to measre the temp/resistance of your current sensor. You can correct with a resistor to get the same temp in normal operating range (195 degrees), but it might be somewhat off the farther you get from that temp.

I believe the sensor will read the temp correctly. I am not using factory gauges but I am using the factory sensor with an autometer gauge and it reads correctly. If memory serves me right the AM gauges use the same sensor range as the factory GM gauges. A quick way to tell is to hook it up and datalog it will tell you right away.

LS1MCSS I'm interested in one of these sensors you have.. I tried to PM you but couldn't... I have stock 69 GTO gauges and an LS1 in the car so I'd like one if you have them still
please PM or email me Thanks
