how about the radiator???
as you might know, I am buying all the stuff I need for a swap, the engine and tranny last.
Now I am looking at a radiator, I will be ordering one from Bryan McCulloch,
He has the best product and prices out there.
He will be making a custom radiator for me, to stock fitment of a H.D. radiator, with a double pass outlet and a trans cooler on the drivers side.
-It will also have a steam return line fitting on top (AN-6 is right isn't it?), and
-I would like to put in the autometer water temparature sending unit as well, where to put it for best readings, between the upper and lower outlet? I have seen that a lot on many stock radiators aswell, so...
and
-My car didn't came with an overflow bottle, should I add one now? I don't like them to be in the engine bay, and wouldn't/can't afford a nice billet piece.
The radiator comes with a 22>24 lbs pressure cap and I can choose the have a overflow outlet or not? The old one did had a overflow tube, but without any bottle, just to the ground. what is best?
I hope you can help me out again, thanks
Peter
Thanks
Peter
I don't really think where you put the temperature sending unit is too critical (actually it is for detonation purposes, and thus in the head as close to the cylinder/spark plug as possible) you just want an indication of what it's doing.
Here it is:

My two sensor were in the middlish of the tank.. hmmm.. shouldnt the radiator guy know where the sensors would best go? Oh, I assume you meant the sending units to run the fans and not the guage.. if its the guage then there is a plug on the back side of the passengers side head as stated above

I meant the gauge sending unit, so that has to go in the head. I would like to switch the fans by the pcm, why didn't you?
Thanks guys
Peter
