I like the line" if you want a cruiser done right you'll have to build it yourself" since buying the" survivor" didn't work so well!

How do you like the ridetech rear sway bar?
Is it worth the cost? I'm thinking of adding one to my car.

Try putting on a "H" or "X" type of crossover in the exhaust.

do you have any more info on this process?? Is the slip plate like a graphite lubricant??? will it dry and not get everything all nasty?? i've never heard of this stuff...

Yep......It's a dry lubricant...........And it works great.........Dry to the touch........After Glass Beading, the Phosphoric acid dissolves all the rust and gets down to the as Cast state........and the Graphite Spray covers and seals the surface......It dries to the touch .........Pretty Simple....

Just to help anyone else out with the same issues who bought a CPP Disc Brake kit that had the DeVille rear calipers......when I installed my kit I had nothing but problems getting these to work.....The Deville calipers have a mechanical parking brake feature built into the calipers.....there is a cable pulled lever that has a feature that as the lever is pulled.....the piston is mechanically pushed out to lock the pads on the rotor.........well.....I spent a week trying to get the pads tight against the rotors in assembly.......I had to modify the arms to get any function at all.......after driving the car this summer, I decided to put Ceramic pads in the car to eliminate brakes dust on mostly the front wheels.......In doing so I found that the new pads were much thicker than the pads supplied with the CPP kit and I had to reverse the mod's made earlier to get the pads to fit.....Bingo........everything worked perfectly with the thicker pads......It seems that CPP has been shipping these kits out with pads that were too thin and the internal parking brake mechanism was already at it's travel limits with the supplied pads.......No wonder I had so much brake dust on the front rims......they were doing all the work.....I called CPP and talked to their Tech guy's and explained what I found.......He said OOOPPPsssss!!!......maybe that's why they were having so many issues with their kits.............They work Perfect now........ Just in case you have the same problems .....just thought I would pass this along!!

Dude your car is awesome , nice build , I will add to the ccp brake kit woes as Ive done 3 of them , It took me3 years to figure that the rod from the power booster was slightly long , they need washers between them and the master , I suspected too much heat on the line from headers as the issue , and tryed differant headers , heat wrap and other futile efforts , but 2 5 cent washers fixed the issue , when i went to do the next car and it did the same thing atleast i knew what to do , bet that thing drives like a dream , doing my first ls swap now ly6 into a 64 chevelle , its done just waiting for my ecu , 2 days is a long time

Thanks, Ken! I had a set of these made for my 65 Bel Air swap. Completely solved my problem hitting the crossmember, and I am using the GM swap pan(hummer H2). Clears by 1/4"

Update...........Since completing the car in 2011.....I basically drove it everywhere for two years until building the LSA powered Chevelle.....at that point the car basically sat in the garage for two years.......So....early summer this year I took the Impala out for a drive......again....these big cars have no competition when it comes to ride quality........But.....Two things became apparent.......LOL.......I realized how bad the brakes really were ..........I guess after having all those initial problems with the CPP kit......I just accepted them as normal (I was glad the car stopped at all with their "Junk" kit they sell)........after driving the Chevelle and seeing how real brakes work, I knew I had to get this problem resolved once and for all....(I was on the Tech line with CPP so often they knew my voice...........And I was told time and time again that I just wasn't doing things correctly)..........So........Since I was a Idiot.........I took the car to Frame-up Wheelworks in Waukegan, Ill and told them to fix the brakes and give me a call when it had "BRAKES"........Two weeks later they call and tell me to pick up the car........

The car now has "BRAKES"........OMG!!!.........In addition to CPP shipping the kit out with the wrong pads for the Seville calipers (took a season to find that little error).....it ended up the Vacuum booster and Master cylinder were not sized correctly to work together.......What they did was put a Hydro-Boost system on the car with a Master that was sized for the system .........You would think that a Major supplier of Braking systems wouldn't have these issues..........Ya Think !!!..........

Problem #2............After driving the Chevelle with LSA power (570 RWHP) and getting into the Impala again.........It was like driving a Yugo as far as power was concerned........So.......I ordered a Edelbrock E-Force supercharger for the LS2......So.....parts of the trouble free system will have to be changed.......LOL......I'm waiting for the box from Edelbrock to show up.......but....in the mean time I know that the stock GTO pump built into my tank will need to be changed so we will start there........I ordered a Camaro ZL1 fuel pump and a Vaporworx system for controlling fuel pressure........So......Now I need the expertize of the knowledge base here for a little problem that popped up today....... After removing the fuel tank

today and getting the GTO pump out.......I noticed difference in the pumps as far as getting the fuel out of the tank.......Again....when I built the car I welded the male style fitting into the tank for the stock fuel line to connect to.........now.......the ZL1 pump has the male fitting on it with no fuel line.........so.....I need a fuel line with two female ends on it to connect the pump to the fitting.......I'm sure it's available but I thought I would ask here first.........also....I will be documenting the completion of the Supercharger install as it progresses.........
