The black rubber hose that is supplied with these Walbro pumps will not survive with what is in today's fuels. I have seen the inside of the hose swell up and get gummy within a week of use, and this is often part of the problem with the loss of fuel pressure. The OEM clear line does not deteriorate and can be used with the Walbro pumps. Racetronix uses the better clear line as well. Bob

Yeah, don't waste your $$$ on the new SAE30R10 "in tank" line either! I spent $20 for a 1 ft piece (+ shipping) and it split the 1st time I ran it. Went back to the older SAE30R9 spec line and all is good...

Thanks, Bob. That line was on my turbo Buick powered S-10 which sees upwards of 70# on the fuel rail. I tested it to #100 and it failed, but it's rated to a bunch higher than that...

I have asked auto part stores around here, but all they know how to ask is year make model and only vehicle specific pumps.

Has anyone had problems once you lose prime, say if you ran out of gas, and try just turning the key (cycling the pump) to re prime? Mine just doesn't seem to want to do it

took old pump apart. everything is plastic except for the drive setup, which is steel. besides the fact that there are shavings captured on the inlet side screen, anybody think its a knockoff?

China is not making gearotor fuel pumps.

the pics are great, but im using an in-line GSL392.....

also have preliminary voltage readings with brand new pump
Roughly 20 ft of 14gauge wire from front mounted relay to pump in rear....
V at BAT 14.43 idle
V at pump 11.88 idle

my alternator is a stock 04 GTO 140 amp.

going to step up to 12 gauge wire and post readings.

Might be good "Sticky" info when wiring up pump.........

Wow, that's a lot of drop! Are your connector terminals soldered? This voltage calculator shows you pulling 26A. My Holley black pulls 8A and my old BG220HR pulled 10A...

having trouble getting a electronic high pressure fuel pump to prime is common . Best to not run out of gas , but if it's losing prime at 1/4 tank , either there is a leak in the fuel line and/or pump is above the bottom of the tank or You're gas cap is not venting properly . If it happens take cap off and sometimes this will help . A for sure way to prime in a hurry , take a piece of garden hose and a wet rag and wrap rag around hose and push both against fuel inlet and after turning key on blow . It does'nt take much air at all to cavitate ,,,,,,,kinda weird how the fuel goes right thru the electric motor of the pump n does'nt cause any problems (shorting motor)

Talking Do a..

volt drop test on both the + and - sides of the fuel pump wiring components.
Should be over 13+ w/ a 14+ at the batt.
