Problems with gauges!!
After looking at the_merv's post
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1018887-wiring-ls1-into-lt1-car.html
I thought I had this gauge thing figured out. (WRONG!!!)
I've got an l92 engine with an engine only harness and computer installed in a 96 v6 camaro. At the moment, the only gauge working is the fuel gauge. The lights work also.
I started with the temp gauge. I replaced the 2 pin temp sensor with the 3 pin keeping the yellow and black wires in the same locations. Then I located the green wire from the gauge connector and ran it to the third pin on the sensor. When I switched the car on, the temp hand went across the redline and pegged out as far as it could go.
Any ideas?

Today I read on a few different posts that it's best to have gauges from the same year model to swap out.(v6 to v8). I have a 96 car and I'm not sure what year model the v8 cluster came from. Other the 120/150 speedo, the clusters are identical. Now I'm wondering are the pinouts the same. I have the lt1 cluster pinout diagram, but I need to verify if the v6 pinout is the same.

Ok, new question, when dealing with the cluster. Is there a ground for the lights, and a separate one for the gauges? Kinda seems like it would be, but I wanna make sure. Lights are working, gauges aren't.

Gauges are working!!!
Special thanx to....Uh.....
me.
Ended up being a second ground for gauges. I thought it was just one and that it was adequate since the lights came on. Turns out the lights have a ground and gauges have a second ground. Hope this helps someone with similar problems.
