Cost for GT0 Engine swap into LT1 Fbody?? Easy or tough???
Curious if anybody has swapped a GTO motor and tranny into an older Fbody 93-97. Is it difficult and how much work after purchase of engine etc. Considering an LSX build for friend.

I paid $4200 for LS2 complete takeout; maf, all accessories, computer, harness, pedal - 36k miles
$1100 for 4L65E with 24k miles
$995 for harness conversion & computer re-program.
You'll need new exh manifolds or headers - possibly new y-pipe.
Ancillary items add up, too.

Difference between the LS1 and LS2 can get expensive because one is drive by cable the other is drive by wire. If you went DBC, our cost for harness and PCM with tune would be $699 total.

The block and mounting of a Gen III (LS1) vs a Gen IV engine is the same. What you are recommened to do if swapping into an Early 4th Gen F-Body is to use the mounts, K-Member, Rack/Pinon and other related parts when putting a Gen III/IV into a Early 4th Gen.. The K-member would make things go a lot easier.
If you want step by steps.. research the threads.. or look at a OEM Factory Service Manual cause that is all your doing.. is upgrading to a early to late 4th Gen Power/driveline.
As far as a GTO vs a F-Body.. same basic block. .just swap pan, exhaust and front accessories from a LS1 F-Body and you have a 4th Gen F-Body Gen III/IV configured engine.
