Where to find engine
Hey guys i'm interested in swapping in either a 4.8, 5.3, 5.7 or 6.0 into my 85 c10. I'm having trouble finding any of them. I'm located in the kansas area. Are there any web sites i could order a salvage motor from for a decent price?

car-parts.com isn't bad, but in my experience most salvage yard guys are greaseball dirtbags that think their scrap trash is worth a fortune. A lot of them have no real clue what they are selling or how well it works (if it does at all). That's a generalization of course but it's the conclusion I've come to. There are some legit yards though. I think cleaveland pick a part sells a ton of stuff on forums, I know they are on lateral g. Long story short it isn't always worth trying to save $100. Might try finding a running beater on craigslist. I'm sure others will feel differently.

Kansas where? Kansas is a large place.
Part of your question has to be answered with some other questions...
What is your location? Just city only is fine.
What are your goals?
How much are you willing to spend?
Do you have a method to haul the engine or does it need to be delivered?
How far are you willing to go for an engine?
etc, etc.
All of that plays in to what you need to look for. If I was building an ultralight car and wanted it to be nimble I would spend the extra $$$$ for an aluminum block. Since it's going in a large, heavy truck save that cash and don't worry about the potential 65 lb weight penalty vs. the potential thousands of dollar$ you could save.
I like local stuff so you can inspect it before you buy - but that's me.

I live around Hutchinson. My goals are to build 500+ N/A LS for my Long travel f150. Yes i can pick the engine up no need for delivery unless its across the country or something. I'm willing to spend what it takes to make the power.

There's a new GM LS6 crate motor FS in the Texas Classifieds. I bought one like last year and it had the Caddy oil pan on it that works with most conversions. We swapped the cam out with a custom EPS baby cam and it laid down 430rwhp. It's in my wifes SS and drives like a dream and idles like stock.
Just a thought.
