Dmax and a third gen
I know this hasnt been done yet but I and taking on the challenge I got a 2003 donor truck 2500 2wd 6.6 duramax I have it striped down and I have my 91 camaro with no engine and trans
I want to get in the 600 hp range with the duramax and ill have a built 4l80e behind it
Ill start test fitting the engine next week and will keep you guys up to date I am not rich just lucky and came across some good deals but this will not be a overnight swap and I am aware of all the custom fab work ahead of me and I am very capable of taking it on
YES subframe like a ****

the 4l80 will be fully built with the toughest components it will definately fit width wise the height is the issue but I can remote mount the turbo(S)if needed I have a 2 inch cowl and do not want to go any higher than that
I will be taking lots of pics and posting the swap

there are guys doing it with a compound twin setup with a s480 feeding the stock and getting up to 60 psi thats about as high as I will go actually I want to keep it around 40 until I build up the bottom end
the diesel world is alot different you can mix match lb7 lly lmm stock parts and make one strong engine but alone they all have their weaknesses
also you can get big power for cheap if done correctly

If the compound turbo is cheaper since you don't have to buy a second turbo if feeding the stock one then that is a winner. None of it will be really cheap including any fabrication; but an F1 Procharger for instant boost off idle and then a decent turbo to feed the top end sounds like the ultimate solution to me. Maybe that can be the upgrade later down the road .

I also plan to either back half the car or just a mini tub to put some rubber under there
