Haha!! Wow, I have never seen that video before! Yea.... er... umm... it really is like that. Mine's (currently) an automatic also so that makes it even worse.

DeLorean owners tend to get pretty defensive when people talk about the lack of power in their cars but it's true. When mine dynoed in at 99.8hp, I could have cried. Damn thing couldn't even break 100!

As per the requirements of this project, its got to be fully functional by May. I don't forsee that being an issue right now.

I always wanted to do a replica of the coyote from season 2/3 of hardcastle and mccormick (it's a delorean chassis with different body panels) and a newer chevy V8

the stunt version can be seen at the beginning of this video as well as a better shot of the actual delorean hero car at :53.

If you don't install the Flux Capacitor, the project will fail.

Welcome to the site, and best of luck with the conversion. I agree with the others - seeing this car finally get some power will be awesome.

If you do make that hunk of good looking metal run with that LS1, everyone here will you.

Please, please, please, post pics of the process. We ALL want to see this happen!

First issue is being addressed; mating the engine and transmission. If anyone has any advice, that thread is here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...n-project.html

Thanks!

How about just scrapping everything that is Delorean and going all Chevy? Have you checked out any of the LSX into Fiero swaps?

Should have changed the engine oil in it. If it's anything like Grand Turismo 5 and you change the oil, you can get 5 more hp out of it. Cool swap, I'll be watching that one.

i knew someone in phoenix with a Delorean who built a flux capacitor because everyone always asked him where it was. but when it came to the mr fusion and people would ask "where do you put the beer cans and banana peels?" he would reply "in the trunk with the rest of the groceries"

It was made from an old Mr Coffee brand grinder IIRC, so maybe he can find one and make a Mr Fusion haha
