LS1 DeLorean Project, Cincinnati OH
Hi all, my name is Nick and I'm a senior at the University of Cincinnati in Engineering. Been a gearhead my whole life. I've helped restore several cars, worked on countless cars, and spent the last 5 years restoring a DeLorean. I love the car but as long as I've owned it, I've wished it had more power. In 08, after replacing the exhaust, it was dynoed at 99.8hp, what a shame. (car is currently an automatic; part of the project is converting to a manual)
A few weeks ago, my school approved my proposal to design a kit to allow an LS1 to be installed in a DeLorean as my senior design project.
Yesterday I picked up an LS1 out of a 98 Camaro SS.
Just wanted to say hey as I'll likely be asking a lot of questions about getting this thing going.

About damned time someone make those cars run the way they look. Right on! Just put her on a serious diet!
Ill put my vote in as ultimate sleeper for anyone who knows how slow these cars are stock, lol.

Here are some pics of the car now:
I will say that after all the engine work I've done it does bum me out a little that I'll be replacing it. Then again I'm replacing it with an engine with exactly double the displacement and over 3 times the power so I wont be sad for long...

My stepdad and I drove a delorean thinking about trading our former 88 Fiero GT in on it. Well, after driving the delorean, I could never own one with the stock power. Holy hell those things have absolutely NO *****. I think our lawn mower is faster. Lol. Glad to see one getting some power!

sweet! i've always thought a Delorean would be a great LS swap car. It should get to 88mph pretty damn quick now
as for how slow they are. they raced one on the car show and it lost to a minivan
