Default Anyone using the Abbott Cable-X?

If so, would you recommend it? I'm going to use a mechanical speedo for specific reasons. The alternative is modifying the tail shaft to accept a mechanical speedo gear which is almost $500.

I have never used one, but I know a guy that has one in his 88 RX7. He says it works as advertised.

I have one on my 79 elcamino and definitely think it is the only way to go. One tire change and later a rear gear change and reprogramming the unit is a snap. My worry was the needle going to be smooth or be jumping around and it does just like it is suppose to. Highly recommend.

Why hassle using a mech speedo?

Because I'm picky. Believe it or not, the reason is because I want a 200mph gauge like the originals had. The electronic Autometer 200mph gauge has the digital trip meter in a position such that the number 200 is made smaller than all the others so it will fit. The mechanical gauge has a regular odometer and all the numbers the same size so 200 looks like all the other numbers. That's the only reason. I'm just that picky.

Mine works like a champ! Especially when I changed from 3.73's to 4.10's.....I dialed in the necessary speedo calibrations myself.

So am I. Not everyone wants to change their original dashes.
