lownfast - I plan to removing any unnecessary tab on the trans that gets in my way. It might be used for something, on some OE fitment...but not on my build.

Was this the first time the motor sat in the car? If so - congratulations. Big step.

Yes sir, this was the first time the engine met the car. So far they are getting along well. The engine pictured is a 6.0 with 317 heads I bought to use with a turbo. But I have changed plans and have an LY6 engine now. I'll have to find the 6.0 a new home at some point.

I think I'll just trim the ear off the Trans. It should be just fine.

This is pretty much the permanent fitment of the engine/trans. the engine is level side to side, and its all set at 4 degrees down. My tie rods hit my oil pan, so i added 1/4 inch shims and now i have plenty of clearance lock to lock.

I have plenty of clearance from the firewall to the engine and bell housing.

Driver side

passenger side

Time to start covering the trans up

I guess i got lucky, my trans is sitting at 4 degrees and it bolted to the factory crossmember with no modification needed, and as an added bonus the crossmember is bolted to the frame using factory mounting holes!

Had one issue, i bought BMR adjustable upper control arms, and the driver side hits the housing, im not very happy about having to cut up a brand new over priced part, i would say BMR's R&D is lacking at the least...

I am at these decision points with my '67 chevelle now. I have spent some time looking at pictures of the Kwik set up and it is a presentable and affordable option, but I am leaning toward modifying the crossmember for a few reasons.

1. my frame had previously been repaired on the passenger front frame horn, so not concerned about ruining a perfect frame. Minor repair and still a good frame, but just makes the decision easier for me.
2. I plan to make precise cuts so that if I ever wanted to weld the piece back in to give it the stock appearance I will have the piece I cut out.
3. probably the biggest reason is to save a couple hundred $$$$ for other necessities.

You are ahead of me, so keep the updates coming!

Installed fitting in the jeep box. Very easy stuff, for $5 the fittings are a steal.
