After the rain Saturday I wasn't feelin it. So started on a new workbench for the garage. Then a buddy with a 68 Chevelle came Rollin up in his car ready to do work! So we proceeded to separate the body from the old frame. It was a bit sketchy at first we got her lifted and ready for more progress! This week is supposed to be nice out, so wish me luck, I have lots to do.

I had a chance to call Jason @ Texas drivetrain performance this afternoon. I was checking on when he could get me in. He said 'can you come now?' I was shocked but thrilled. He even offered to tear my t56 while I watched and went over what was good or bad. Turns out I got a good one! I only needed a bearing kit to do the job. they were nice enough to answer my questions and point out what makes or breaks all the hard parts inside.

Here is the worst part of the car. It's pretty bad under the back seat. And at some point some one thought roofing tar was the answer...

I spent some time with my fire wall. Didn't get it all but made some progress, sanded and got a heavy coat of primer on ready to sand some more. Still need to mud over the weld from the shaved AC hole.

I got my Trans back from Texas drivetrain performance. All built and ready for some abuse. Thanks again to Jason. Good guy and answered all my questions. He gave me some pointers about the LS7 clutch and gave me a spacer that will shim out my slave cylinder, I'm glad I spent some time picking his brain about clutches and issues he has seen over time.

The issue with adapting the hydraulic clutch to an Abody has been solved. Was a lot easier than I thought. I didn't need any extra metal. Just cut off the factory clutch rod bracket. Moved it back and kind of stacked it on top of the left over piece still attached to the pedal. Hopefully the pics tell the story.
Mocked up in place
The washers put the rod at almost perfect
At full release the rod is a tad bit high
Fully engaged the rod is perfectly centered

Im in the planning stages of doing this same swap into my 69 SS396 Chevelle.
The clutch pedal questions I had have been answered, thanks!
Now for the fuel lines, mine is a body off debacle as well and I have new stainless factory style fuel lines from front to back but Im wondering of they will be adequate for this swap?
What fuel system do you plan on using?

the factory lines will support around 500 hp, i wouldnt worry about them.
im using a mix of summit and jegs push loc fittings with 3/8 line. i'm kinda on the fence about using all rubber line or using hardline.

I got the Fbody parts with my Trans. Im using as many stock parts as possible. My reasoning being availability of replacement parts. I plan to do power tour 2013. And just incase I have an issue I want to able to find parts easily.
